  • Family Ski Trip at Beech Mountain

    5/5

We had a great time at this house. It was me, my husband and my two teenage kids. We spent 3 nights here and went skiing at Beech Mountain, which was very close. It was perfect! The view from this house is absolutely beautiful. They have a 4 person jacuzzi right outside the living room sliding door and that was just perfect too. We enjoyed it after skiing and dinner and it was just beautiful. The space for the 4 of us was more than enough and you could easily have 4 kids and 4 adults in the house. The downstairs had 4 bunk beds and a full bathroom with washer and dryer and foos ball table and card table. This lead out to the fire pit. I would bring my own lighter and fire starter stick and some wood if you really want to have a fire. I did not see a lighter and there was just a little wood that was chopped for maybe one fire. Anyway we didn't make a fire, but we did sit in the chairs around the fire pit and the view is beautiful!! We appreciated that they had netflix's and amazon TV available. At night we always enjoyed a movie with the kids and that was very enjoyable. The kitchen is very small and not updated, so if you want to cook a big family meal in there it would be tight. I did bring breakfast items and we always had breakfast by the beautiful table with beautiful views next to the living room. We had dinner at the Alpine Inn which opened at 5 and it was a nice place to get a prime rib dinner, but a bit expensive, but nice to do for a night and only 5 minutes away from the house. The other 2 nights we took pizzas and subs back to the house from Brick oven pizza place that is also not too far from the house. If you want to venture out you can go into Banner Elk and that's a nice little town it is about 15 minutes to town. We opted not to do that because roads are windy and we just enjoyed the view so much from the house. The house is 5 minutes to Beech mountain where we skied for two days. It was perfect and we really enjoyed the mountain and the location to it from the house. Be aware that the roads up there are windy, so if there is snow you may need a 4 wheel drive, if not any car will do just take it slow. There is plenty of room in the drive way and the house was very easy to access. They had automatic check in with a code, so that was really nice and easy. The house is rustic, so it's not spotless, but it's clean enough. All in all we had a great time and would stay again!

  • Older cabin with an amazing view

    3/5

We wanted a getaway in the woods with a balcony with a view and this place met that expectation. We enjoyed the quiet in the woods with birds chirping and deer grazing in the yard. We enjoyed sleeping on the loft with amazing view out the window. The location is ideal for Beech mountain hiking and cool temperatures. This cabin is old and needs updating and could use a good spring cleaning. The place is dusty and there are cob webs all over the windows. The furniture is old and the kitchen is very small. Overall, this is an old cabin in the woods with amazing views and a great fire pit.

    Manager's Response:

Hi Kerry, we're glad you enjoyed this beautiful property overall!
    - While it is an older cabin, the homeowners work hard to keep it well-maintained and updated.
    - They let us know that they had some work done inside before your stay, which led to the dust. The cabin has since been deep-cleaned.
    - They work hard to keep cobwebs cleared, but the wooded location means guests may occasionally see some outside.
The property is just as pictured on the listing, and we are confident that future guests will continue to enjoy five-star stays here!

  • Excellent family get away!

    5/5

My husband and I took our two girls (8 and 13) to the mountains for the first time for a weekend getaway. We had an amazing time. This house had everything needed: nightlights, games, cozy blankets, plenty of towels for the hot tub, etc! The house was very clean and things were labeled well so you didn't have to try and figure out where in the kitchen you find pots and pans or which light switch turns on what. We spent the first night at the fire pit. My husband and I played cornhole while my girls relaxed on the hammock. In the morning, we watched deer graze on the property. The owner was wonderful at suggesting things to do and places to eat. We spent the day going to Grandfather Mountain, Wilderness Alpine Coaster and Hawk's Nest which were not far away. Will definitely want to book this property again!

  • Spring Break At Beech Mountain

    5/5

Great stay. Enjoyed the amenities, lovely views, and close to most trails.Did not realize the beds were on different levels, so a little tricky with our three kids under 10, but had a wonderful time, appreciated the games and puzzles available and had all the necessary items to prepare our meals.
