This property is a work in progress. Many tasteful updates have been done. It was well appointed and clean. Several screens missing on the windows and one was broken. There was a large hole in the deck and a couple warped boards that were trip hazards. The grass had been mowed, but not trimmed around the cabin. There was a dead animal smell coming from under the cabin. We notified the property contact, but never received a reply. We weren't at the property during the day and the cool temps at night and running fans made the smell tolerable while sleeping. I hope that the smell is resolved before the next guests. We also encountered a bat the first night, but did not see it after that - hopefully it found its way out. Overall, this would be a great cabin to stay at with a little more attention and some communication.

Hi Kristi, we want our guests to rest easy when they stay with us, and we apologize that you experienced some issues during your trip. We followed up with the homeowner after reading your feedback, and they wanted to share the following:
- The wildlife is part of what makes the location of this cabin so special. It's a normal occurrence to see bats at night in this area, along with deer, eagles, squirrels, beavers, otters, falcons, ospreys, and other wildlife during the day.
- We already contacted a glass repairman and they fixed the cracked window. We also recently painted and repaired the deck. We have plans to install a completely brand-new deck this Fall for our guests to enjoy.
- We recently looked under the entire cabin and the smell you mentioned was not present when we checked for critters. It appears this issue has been resolved. We have never experienced problems with bad odors and our cleaning team did not report anything unusual before your stay.
Thank you for taking the time to tell us about your experience. We appreciate your suggestions on areas of improvement. We hope to have the opportunity to host you again soon!
Everything was good. The house could use some upgrades. They also might want to check the septic system, the bathroom smelled like sewer. But over all it was comfortable and thank you for letting us rent for the 6 days.

Nice place on the water with lots of wild life around. House was nice and spacious. My only downside was that the room that sleeps 4 is bunkbeds, and I didn't see that in the description (unless I missed it). Over all, great stay - thank you
