    Great long weekend! House has a remote feel, yet is close enough to enjoy town. Great to have our dog and have room to hike him around the area. Would be great for a large family or group of friends.

  • Great hosts, Great Get-away

    We and our close friends took our kids and our dog to this cabin for three nights. The hosts were very nice, the accommodations were spacious, and the location was relaxing. It's situated just south of Helena. There's good hiking around, a running trail by the creek, and it's easy to get up to recreational areas on the water (e.g. Clark's Bay). The house is surrounded by boulders and trees so the kids just spend half their time climbing on top of the boulders while we watched from the porch. The porch wraps halfway around the house and is gated so it was easy to have the dog hang out outside on the porch with us without running into the woods. Very few bugs when we went so it was easy to relax outside in the evening. We needed to come up with makeshift solutions (taping pillow cases) to block light from the bedroom skylights to get the kids to bed at a decent time during the late Montana nights, but if you can come up with something there, you are good to go. Overall, a great experience.
