This place was so peaceful! We had a great time and enjoyed that secluded creek side feeling while we were still close to activities we were in the area for. The home and “bunkhouse cabin” were both very comfortable! 100% will book again!

Length Of Stay: 2 weeks Reason For Stay: Get away from people! The property we had stayed at for the past 5 years in this area was for sale so we had to find a new place that was pet friendly, no close neighbors, and likely to be fireworks free. My husband is from the area and we remember seeing this house being built so it was kind of exciting to be able to stay in a house we’ve admired for several years. Location: It is right above the Ruby Reservoir which made it extremely convenient to take our dog swimming every morning before breakfast and would have been ideal for some fishing if we had been interested in that on this trip. The property is on a forest service road that starts out as passenger car accessible and then turns into a high clearance, 4WD required road higher up which, combined with the fact that there are very few houses on the road, meant there was little vehicle traffic that went by. On the weekends and holiday there was a fair amount of sport vehicle traffic (Polaris, quads, dirt bikes, razors) going by on the USFS road but we expected quite a bit more of that kind of traffic. It is a drive to get to the nearest small store that stocks the basics, even farther to get to a store that has a larger selection of groceries including some organic items, and even farther to get to stores like Costco and Walmart. Property: It has gorgeous mountain views with Barton Creek running through it by the sleeping cabin. We really didn’t see any of the neighbors and the sage brush between the lane and the road act as a pretty effective privacy screen. There were lots of trees for shade and a wonderful lawn that was well maintained. After it would rain, the smell of sage brush and juniper filled the air. Walks were confined to the property because of a cattle guard where the lane meets the road. We saw less wildlife than expected but did see 1 antelope, 3 cow elk that were grazing on the lawn one morning, rabbits, and various birds. We heard coyotes howling most early mornings towards the end of our stay but never saw them. It was very peaceful with the only sounds usually heard being the creek and the wind plus the birds during the day. We were there over the 4th of July and had a welcome break from fireworks noise. House: It’s a pretty house, very well maintained, nice decks for enjoying the outdoors, and amazingly clean. The front and back doors had retractable screens that can be pulled across the openings so fresh air can be let in but the bugs are kept out. There was plenty of seating in the living area and a large dining table. The furnishings throughout the house were very comfortable, clean, and in good condition but not so fancy that we felt like we had to change after a day spent outdoors in order to sit on the couches or chairs. The kitchen had all we needed to cook all our meals and even do some light baking and it had more dishes and utensils than I have ever seen in a rental. The beds on the main floor were comfortable, and I am picky about beds, and there were plenty of pillows and extra bedding if needed. We pretty much stuck to the main level of the house because our dog is a senior with joint issues and we didn’t want to make her use the stairs when the main floor had everything we needed. Property Manager: I reserved directly through the property manager via her property management company. She was absolutely fantastic to work with from the initial contact throughout, and even after, our stay. She went out of her way to accommodate a request due to an emergency surgery prior to our stay, had the house cleaner use unscented laundry products prior to our stay, and called while we were there to see how our stay was going.

The cabin was very comfy. The bunk house was awesome, the creek was right outside the bunk house and was a nice sound at night time. The views are endless and too peas time there is plenty of public lands to walk/roam and climb the hills. Definatly would return here again if I was going to be in the area.
