Our visit was very pleasant. The house is amazing but needs a little updating, which the owners have in their plans. ( Floors need to be repaired in spots). I love old homes so expected it to have imperfections. Gorgeous property!

We absolutely loved this place!!! Great outdoor facilities but there is a rodent/cat smell inside the house...

Marcy, thank you for your review. We're so glad to hear you enjoyed your stay overall. There are no cats on the property, and the homeowner was unable to smell anything at all even after you mentioned it. It is an old house, built circa 1810. This homeowner truly enjoyed having you stay and would love to host you again in the future. They go above and beyond to provide all guests with a 5-star experience and we look forward to helping them continue to do so. Best, the Evolve Team
The scenery is amazing and the southern charm is nothing but God given and created. The owner is super sweet. BUT, the home needs many repairs which are minor but dangerous when the owner knows of them and are left undone. For example, the armoire door which is huge fell on me. Also the toilet cover was broken and fell off, a dinner no room chair was left unscrewed and my daughter?s friend fell into the chair hole. These are minor but were known problems that should have been repaired and could have hurt us. I would stay again because it is beautiful and peaceful and the pool was wonderful. The water is cool and refreshing on a hot summer?s day. This place is a gem it just needs a little more TLC.

Our visit to Desert Plantation for our Girls Weekend trip was wonderful! The house is so grand and spacious with plenty of room to wander around and find new areas to explore. We marvelled at the age and history of the house, thinking of how we drove though the area to tour other historical plantation homes and then get to go back and stay in a fabulous one! The owner, Willia came over and told us all about the history of the house and left complimentary wine for us! She made sure that we were comfortable and had everything we needed for a memorable stay. The house was perfect and offered a variety of areas for relaxation such as the front porch with rocking chairs, the pool area, the deck covered in white lights, the parlor, the den, etc. The bedrooms are fabulous and so spacious with each having it's own bathroom. It was wonderful to imagine the families who lived, worked, and played there for over 2 centuries! We feel so fortunate to have had the opportunity to stay at the Desert. Thanks Willia for providing such a great experience!

What a unique experience. We stayed the weekend on a girls' trip and everyone was in awe of the gorgeous house and property. The pool was perfect and relaxing for a hot day. We saw deer and other wildlife, and even fed the horses some apples. We spent a lot of time on the porch, cooled by the fans, sitting in the rocking chairs just talking and looking out over the grounds with the gorgeous oak trees and Spanish moss. The house itself so unique, it's like stepping back in time but with all the modern conveniences. The kitchen had everything we needed for meals and the ice maker came in handy. The beds were all comfortable and everything was clean. Willia was there to greet our first arrivals and came by to personally check in on us during our stay. We're already talking about coming back to Desert Plantation again. It is a truly unique experience you can't find anywhere else.
