• Great place to stay!

  We stayed here the weekend of our wedding at the barn. Our bridal party also stayed with us. It was super convenient to be so close for the whole event. The fire pit was great to relax around with our friends the night before. It was clean, well stocked for cooking breakfast, and comfortable. There is plenty of parking as well. Definitely would recommend staying here!

• Nice Farmhouse

  We had a nice stay at the farmhouse. I didn't realize it is about 30 min from the town of Ste Genevieve, but it worked out ok. We had trouble finding the house in the dark - our GPS didn't take us to the exact spot and there were no lights on at the house - but we finally made it after seeing the barn.

  The house has plenty of space, beds, baths, and comfortable seating. The decor is cute and it feels homey. The house was very clean except for a few dishes (not hard water but food), but of course that could be the previous renters not washing them well! There was a strong smell when we came in, perhaps from previous water damage in the basement, but we were able to air it out.

  Dirty dishes with obvious food stuck to silverware, cookware, bowls, etc. Rat feces in drawers. Dead bugs in window sills. Filthy dishwasher, I refused to use it, couldn't screw over the next person like that. I attempted to email and reach out to the property manager to make this right with no answer.

  Questions regarding check in prior to were left unanswered. Had to call to get in the property due to absent communication.The stay outside of the kitchen basically was fine. It is a very pretty property but the kitchen was gross and communication was poor.

  - We conducted a thorough review of our communication records using the details provided, including your name, phone number, email address, and reservation number. Unfortunately, we were unable to locate any correspondence beyond the initial reservation details forwarded to us by Evolve, our property hosting company. Our phone logs were also examined to identify any missed calls or voicemails from the number you supplied, but none were found. Upon further inquiry with Evolve, it was confirmed that you had indeed reached out to them the day before your scheduled check-in, requesting an early check-in. In response, Evolve promptly replied within a few minutes, guiding you to check your instruction email and advising you to contact the guest contact, often referred to as 'the boots on the ground.' On the day of your check-in, you contacted Evolve again, expressing uncertainty about how to reach the guest contact. It was at this point that Evolve responded with the guest's contact information to facilitate further assistance.
  - Regarding dead bugs in the window sills, the property was cleaned on the Monday before your stay, and our cleaning checklist includes regularly checking window sills. Fluctuating temperatures can attract a stray fly or two, which, although not ideal, is part of country living. We'll pay extra attention to this aspect in the future.
  - Concerning rodent issues, we've never encountered such problems in the four years of operating this property. We consistently maintain the premises, perform preventive monthly servicing, and have never experienced any rodent-related incidents. Your feedback is crucial, and we'll continue to monitor and address any potential concerns.
  - As for the dishwasher, we were unaware of any issues before your stay. The off-season and extended periods without regular use may have contributed. We appreciate you bringing this to our attention, and we'll ensure it receives the necessary service.
