  • Family Wedding

    4/5

Flew in from Boston for a family wedding. Evolve was a great site, easy to use and everything worked out great. The house was furnished fine. Beds were comfortable. It looked just like advertised. When we walked in the door the AC was on, THANK YOU-because the weather was humid and swampy. The water pressure in the shower was strong and that was appreciated! It was clean and towels were appreciated in the bathrooms. One nite the game room was used and enjoyed. Also want to add that there is blinds in the bathroom. Don’t walk around naked because there is nothing on the windows in the kitchen, and maybe game room, but rest had curtains. The front is on a busy street and the back there is the Katy Trail busy with hikers, joggers, and bicycles. There is a fire pit in the back but you would need to carry wrought iron chairs over to it. It was so hot, we didn’t sit out, plus there were a lot of wasps. We bought sprays and left them there. Loved the rocking chairs in front so comfortable but a bit nervous about where the wasp nest was. The chairs in the back sunroom were so comfy and we watched all the birds in the back yard drinking our coffee and tea in the morning. We didn’t eat out, we cooked and cookware was adequate. The fridge worked fine, stove, lights, AC, TV, Bathrooms all fine. There was a high chair in back room near the game room. There is a ceiling fan in there but doesn’t work, well the light on it works but the fan didn’t. I had a ceiling fan in the bedroom I was sleeping in and I used it. It was nice to have because there was some mildew or mold somewhere so it kept the air circulating. Anyone with bad allergies this might not be good. However, I am very sensitive to it, I can smell it a mile away and I did not have a reaction to it. I could not find where it was or see it anywhere but as soon as you walk in you can smell that musky smell. For that I would suggest having all fans working. That was the only downside, and we were out most of the time slept 3 nights. It is an older property, but thought has been put in for people’s comfort. There are rules on sign on table -You have to pretty much CLEAN THE HOUSE before you leave. Load dishwasher and turn on, clean out fridge, put all trash in barrel out back, put towels all together in pile, lock all windows, strip all beds- for an early flight to STL leaving at 5:30 in the morning, that’s a bit much, so figure all that in your schedule.

The decor and bedding were all very nice and comfortable. The water pressure was also great. The host was very, very helpful and responsive. We loved the walking trail access right behind the home. We didn’t cook many meals there, so it wasn’t an issue for us, but the kitchen was pretty bare when it comes to cooking items.
