• Disappointing Property

  The cabin looked nothing like the adorable one pictured. It was extremely weathered with weeds all around/pretty rough. We noticed that many of the pictures posted online were not what we were seeing. For example, there is not a dining area as pictured. The most disappointing part was that the cabin was extremely dirty! There was dust covering everything...ceiling fans, dressers, beds, etc. The sheets had not been cleaned/changed from the last stay/were covered in hair and dirt. The bathrooms had rings from cups, the sinks were not wiped, and the toilets had not been cleaned. There was also a big line of rust/hard water in the jetted tub/showers. The cabinets were scraped up and there was lots of wear/tear inside. The fire alarms were even missing. We contacted the guest contact (cleaning co) who told us the previous guests also complained. She offered to come out and clean again, but by this point it was already 6pm (4pm was check in) and she would not have been able to make it there/clean in a reasonable amount of time. We then contacted the mngt co and they told us that they would get back to us with a refund option. We left and stayed else where. After an entire week and multiple calls, we worked out a 50% refund. We do not deny a co came and tidied, just did not clean. This property is listed by a mngt co and not the actual owner, which made the refund process a little more difficult. We have had great experience with VRBO, but will certainly be weary of using it again.
