'Clever Bear Cabin' is equidistant from both the North and South Higgins Lake State Park, providing endless opportunity for outdoor recreation and easy-going beach days. A short walk from the house will take you to the heart of it all - Higgins Lake - where kayaking, canoeing, fishing, swimming, and sunbathing await!
Roscommon is the perfect place for those looking to get away, while still being mere minutes from all the fun. Head 10 minutes into town to visit some of the local shops and restaurants, or visit in September to take part in the Michigan Firemen's Memorial Festival!
When the cold weather blows in, trade your oars for a pair of ski poles! Within 2 hours of the property, you'll find plenty of mountains to shred, including Treetops Resort, Hickory Hills, Mount Holiday Ski Area, Boyne Resort, and the Caberfae Peaks!

Short bird hunting trip
5/5 Really enjoyed the cabin. Small but extremely well thought out. Very clean and well equipped. Owner was very helpful and friendly.

Could have been better
3/5 Was so excited for this stay. Overall, was very disappointing. Check in was upsetting. Lack of communication with owner not returning calls. Wanted to cancel as just didn’t have a good feeling. Evolve the management company pretty much ties your hands and will not let you cancel. You go based off of booking photos and reviews. Please note last review was from 2022. Management company said the host said house was being cleaned (which delayed checking in) and owner told my husband he was busy at his store which recently had a fire.
Upon checking in you hope for the rental to be clean and ready. It is different from the photos. I think the photos need to be updated. There is a different couch in the living room. No chairs or dresser in the rooms as the photos show. Also, there are lights in the living room in the photo and they aren’t there. Cabin is dark. Outside the couch has cushions all over. Trash still left behind. And little white bug larve on the table, chairs, shower. Just looks like
It needed a good clean. Also, the AC was leaking when we were there. Owner said he’d get someone to look at it. No one
Came while we were there. Just had to keep putting towels down to collect the water. Location to the lake is nice and the water is gorgeous. The outdoor shower was a really nice feature.

Clever Bear Cabin is perfect!!
5/5 Everything is as advertised. Short walk to the lake for a beautiful sunset. The outdoor patio and kitchen are great!!!
