We enjoyed our stay at Paradise Cottage, a remote cabin in one of our favorite remote places - the Paradise/Whitefish Point area. Excellent space and provisions in the kitchen and living areas, comfortable and warm in the bed and bath areas. And, surrounded by woods on all sides (we enjoyed a fire in the fire pit on our last night). Location also perfect for our agenda - birding at Whitefish Point, at Vermillion Point, on Preacher Road. Perfect spot for our family group of four!

the house was cute, but the pungent smell of the water was not good. Need to tell people that. It didn't smell in town, it should be addressed. Did not shower because of
it. My hair would smell. Used bottled water to brush teeth.
No curtains on the bedroom windows. Not enough towels
Wanted us to clean the whole place and be out by 10, and pay 2 days $147.

Thank you for your feedback. We’re glad you found the house cute and appreciate your comments.
Regarding the water, our listing does mention the presence of tannins, which are naturally occurring in well water. While we treat the water as best as possible, tannins can be difficult to fully filter out, especially in the cooler months when the cabin is closed up. The water is safe for use, including showering, and we’re sorry to hear it impacted your stay. We will review the listing to ensure this is communicated clearly.
As for the towels, there are always extra towels available, typically located in the second bathroom. We will double-check to ensure they’re easily accessible for future guests.
In terms of cleaning, we don’t ask guests to clean the entire house before checkout. Our standard request is simply to pick up after yourself and place the trash in the bin. We apologize if there was any misunderstanding and are generally flexible with checkout times when possible.
Transparency is paramount to us, and we make sure to break down all rates and fees before the reservation is confirmed. Our goal is to ensure guests are fully aware of the total cost of their stay, leaving no room for surprises.
We appreciate your feedback, and it helps us make improvements for future guests. Thank you again for staying with us.
The cabin smelled and the water smelled very bad. There were kid toys strewn about inside and out. The beds were nice. The cabin is a little run down and has some interesting wiring. I would not stay here again

Hi John, we’re sorry to hear your stay did not meet your expectations. We followed up with the homeowner after reading your feedback, and they wanted to share the following:
-We appreciate your feedback. Our cabin is designed with a focus on being family-friendly, which includes providing children’s toys to accommodate families with young children. While we strive to create a welcoming environment for all guests, the property is not marketed as a romantic retreat with amenities such as a jacuzzi or panoramic mountain views. We aim to offer a comfortable and practical setting suited to various needs, and we hope this helps clarify the cabin’s features and its intended atmosphere.
-Regarding the smell, our water contains tannins, which can impart a distinct odor typical of well water in a deep woods setting. This is a common characteristic of the area.
-As for the wiring, there are no safety concerns. The moose antler lights are an intentional part of the cabin’s rustic charm, and the setup is not dangerous.
We sincerely hope that your future travels and accommodations bring you continued joy and satisfaction. We remain dedicated to enhancing the experiences of all our guests and look forward to welcoming many more, as reflected in our numerous 5-star reviews.
Nice Location, access to the paradise ATV Trails we took all the way to Whitefish point. Close to allot of attractions The Falls were beautiful, and a trip to Oswald's Bear Ranch was great. Communication with Owner was a great experience.

This lodge, tucked away in Paradise, was everything we needed for our UP vacation: updated kitchen, great deck, fire pit, close to Tahquamenon, and enough space for everybody to spread out. Definitely watch the video about how to access the place — this is the UP and it’s on an unmarked road. Also, bring water. Like a lot of properties in the UP, the well water has tannins…
