• Small Town Main Street Loft Apartment

  Check-in was easy. The friendly host sent us a text message with the code. We loved the small town, Main Street location, and we stayed there to visit major attractions in Grand Rapids. After our sightseeing, Lowell was on our way home.

  The apartment was clean, and the bed was comfortable. The shower was outstanding.

  Listing has incorrect information about keyed access. When correct information was shared, the coordinator did not actually do as expected - deliver the code for the door. I emailed and left a voicemail and ended up asking for help in the Spirits store. I did get the correct information at that point - but it was very awkward.

  At 11pm the actual coordinator texted me and said she “hoped everything worked out to get checked in” she was busy with a birthday party. Check in was at 3. So 8 hours later the person whose job it was to give me a door code reaches out?!?!

  Stairs leading to the 3rd floor are little better than a ladder - extremely steep and wooden with the treads barely being 7 inches? The stairwell stinks.

  The room was generally as pictured.

  There was no extra anything - no extra towels (there were 2 total), no bath mat outside the shower, no extra blanket, bedding was worn, and no spoons in the utensils. The “treat basket” (which is a nice touch… when done well) has 2 sleeves of peanuts - and it could hold about 20 so just looked pathetic.

  The bed itself was uncomfortable.

  There was open food in the cupboard.

  The oven was on when we arrived and so the room smelled of natural gas.

  The coffee pot did not work.

  The AC was extremely loud and barely worked - which may explain the thin bedding…? The AC unit on our second night started making extremely loud noises but not actually blowing air.

  I would not recommend if you have breathing issues or mobility concerns.

  - The building is over 100 years old, so while some features, such as the staircase, reflect its historic character, we understand it may not suit all guests.
  - Standard linens and towels are always provided, and your comments about amenities and the welcome basket have been noted for review.
  - We’ve also followed up with our cleaning team regarding the oven and confirmed the AC unit is being serviced.

  While the old building was cool and the liquor store employee was super nice. The coffee maker does not work, the microwave fan stays on so I had to unplug it. The BED is HORRIBLE and is probably the same age as the building 1875. The stairs are Crazy steep and no way an older person could make it or carry a suitcase up them. They ask you to clean everything before you leave and take out the trash.which we do as normal respectable people. The problem is if I am cleaning the unit then WHY do I have to pay a cleaning fee?? 🤔

To clarify, the bed is brand new, purchased in 2023, and the steep stairs are noted in the listing so guests can plan accordingly. Guests aren’t asked to clean before departure; that was a misunderstanding. I appreciate the feedback and will make sure all instructions in the unit are clear for future stays."
