  Host was great to work with. But carpets throughout the home need to be cleaned.

We do have them professionally cleaned each fall after the busy season, but with back-to-back guests in the summer, they can sometimes show wear sooner than expected. • Good except staircase safety issue

  I wanted to let potential guests know of a serious safety issue with this house, that I feel should be dealt with ASAP. On BOTH basement staircases, the vertical slats are almost 8" in spacing, which is more than enough for a small child to fall through. These staircases are particularly bad, because the full 8 foot drop is accessible from some of the sides with the 8" slat spacing. Building code everywhere I've known has a standard of 4" spacing, to ensure that small children can't get through, so I'm unsure how these staircases passed inspection in the first place. We have a small child, and noticed this right away, so we had to move furniture around to barricade the area and only keep him in 1 room in the house for the entire stay, once it was barricaded. There are 2 staircases in the house with this problem, and neither is easily isolated from the rest of the house via easy barricades.

  I have informed the owner of this issue, so I hope it is resolved soon.

  Other than the dangerous staircases, our stay here was good.
