My cousins and our families (17 of us in all) stayed at the property for 5 days. We had an amazing time. Plenty of space for everyone. House for the kids (14-21 years old) to stay up late and sleep in with a huge bedroom and a house for adults to sleep and everyone to spend the day at when we weren’t on the water.
Kayaks, canoes, paddle boards and peddle boat were fan favorites. We parked our boat at the dock and had plenty of parking for multiple cars and turn around space for truck and boat trailer.
Only issue: not enough refrigeration for 17. We will pack more ice coolers if we are able to stay here again
Definitely wanting to stay here again.

We are a huge Mexican family and usually when we are looking for homes we look for the house first and then visit whatever area it lands on. This was our first time in Decatur but it was phenomenal. We had about 7 different families and no one was in anyones space. The rooms are a bit small and all right next to each other but they are all still seperate so everyone had their privacy. The common spaces were huge and there was enough space for everyone. The kids had a great time outside and it was a pretty safe home as long as you kept an eye on them. They also had a small balcony which was great to hangout at night and just talk and relax or play card games. We were a bit confused on what we could open or not since some of the locks were loose but we texted the host and they responded right away! (My favorite thing about our stay was probably how nice and quick to respond the host was) They also offered a large variety of board games and fun stuff to do outside. We were so happy to see childrens life jackets because we did not think to pack any. The kids had a great time going out on the paddle boat for a little while and it was probably everyones favorite part. We dont know much about kayaks or paddle boards and it was too cold to find out but we are thinking of coming back in the summer to try it out!
Now onto the lakehouse, it was gorgeous! We did not realize it was across the street but that gave a chance for some of the family members that needed a break to go to sleep without having any interruptions and the rooms over there were huge! We did not really use the kitchen space mostly used it for sleeping and bathrooms. The only downside that I may see to this property is that 2 of the 3 bathrooms are in the lakehouse across the street so people staying in the main house all share a bathroom but of course they were also going across the street to use it which worked great for us! We also brought food with us but needed to go out and there was a Walmart about 30 minutes away so it was not too bad of a drive. I would recommend not driving in the dark considering the path to get to the house is not too illuminated but if you do decide to drive at night just go slow, we did take some pictures of a couple of deer on our way there.
Overall, it was honestly one of our favorite family trips so I had to share!
