St Marys River Views: Cabin w/ Wraparound Deck!

• Property Needs Attention

  The challenges started three days before we were scheduled to arrive when I received a phone call from our host letting me know that the pool that was advertised was not functional and would not be usable during our stay. We are a large group with kids and a pool is important for the kids to have an activity during the stay.

  When we arrived:

  *grounds needed attention

  *Shattered front door glass and basement bedroom window broken. Window was covered with plastic.

  * Garbage in many garbage cans throughout the place

  * Some beds only had one sheet on them and a blanket, not two sheets as is needed

  * "Used" underwear under one of the beds and clothing left in one of the closets

  * Laundry left in the washer

  * The place needed a deep clean

  * decomposing mouse in a live trap in one of the basement bedrooms

  * sewer smell when you turned on the water for bathing

  * toilet seat in bathroom by kitchen was completely cracked all the way through. They had a new one, but did not replace it

  * Old coffee filter with moldy grounds and gnats flying around in it were left in the coffee machine

  * One of the stove burners not working

  First morning there, the doorbell rings and the electricity company is there to shut off the power due to non-payment of the bill. We had to scramble and contact the host to keep them from happening.

  Jackie the host was nice and helpful, but our first day was ruined by the events. They offered us a small refund which is not enough and we have not received it yet.

  We paid $1000 for cleaning only plus the nightly fee. We actually think that one night should have been free because of all the issues that happened and the way these issues ruined our first day of vacation.

• Loved the cabin but could use a little TLC

  We loved the cabin and the space it provided for our group of 18. The cabin was clean but could use a little upkeep. The showers in particular needed some help. But we were quickly answered when we had questions and the staff bent over backwards to help if we needed something.

• Beautiful house secluded with area attractions nearby

  Very beautiful with all amenities included. Short distances to local areas of interest. Game rooms enjoyed by all. Plenty of bedrooms for our nine family members; no one was crowded nor lacked privacy. Would stay there again and highly recommend.

• Cabin

  Beautiful accommodations and area. Not many activities or stores nearby. Cellphone service non existent. WiFi a bit spotty. Perfect place to relax and get caught up with lone time friends.

• Maintenance repairs needed

  2 toilets not secured to floor tightly. Bedroom #2 did not have curtin in bathroom which had large window facing the main driveway. Toilet roll holders not full secured to wall. In bedroom #2 clothing item found under bed. Limited amount of silverware in kitchen. BBQ grill racks were dirty. Window in basement bedroom broke. House is beautiful but needs a few items repaired.
