Million Dollar Views
5/5 The deck views from the Oceanfront Cottage provided the quintessential coastal Maine experience! We saw birds, seals, recreation boats and lobster boats right from our perch above the water. The kitchen is well equipped with tools and supplies, and when indoors, we were drawn to the window-lined enclosed porch to look out upon the water. The windows and doors in the porch room are new, and some of the exterior shingles and decking have been updated. This property worked well for our small group of four, but it should be noted that reaching the house from the parking spots might be a challenge for someone with physical disabilities; there are steps to climb and a narrow, gravel path to follow to get to the house. Also, something I missed but is stated in the property description: the bedroom with the second bathroom and shower is located downstairs and is accessible only by going outdoors. The second bathroom is tiny, and you must be able to climb a few stairs to reach it. It worked for us, and we loved showering with the window open!
Overall, the Oceanfront Cottage was everything we wanted in a Maine lodging, and the proximity to Boothbay Harbor and all it has to offer is perfect!
