  • Great Basecamp location for Acadia to Booth Bay

    4/5

The cabin had everything we needed. Able to make breakfast in am, leave for day and return at night for some good rest. It is on a remote property but we like the seclusion. Could have had more space to place our luggage. Kitchen was great and having a grocery < 1 mile away was helpful. Owner contacted me when I arrived and was a nice lady who communicated a couple of small issues which did not matter to us. Wifi worked, didn't use TV while there. Couch in living area is pretty old and uncomfortable. So just used kitchen chairs and table to map out the next days adventure. Good clean shower and small bathroom directly off bedroom. Good experience.

  • Cute, small cottage

    3/5

It was well equipped with everything- I mean everything - right down to the first aid kit. However, the bedroom was too small to move around, no place for suitcases, TV didn't work, toilet seat hinge broke, wicker chair seat broken....this cottage needs attention. To be fair, the lovely, elderly landlady is in poor health and is unable to give this charming property the attention it needs.

    Manager's Response:

Hi Alan, we appreciate you sharing your thoughts about the cottage and letting us know where things could have been better. We followed up with the homeowner after reading your review, and they’d like to share the following:
    - The TV issue was addressed during your stay, but it appears that unplugging it to use a fan may have caused a problem with the Roku connection. This has since been fixed.
    - The toilet seat’s screws had rusted, which caused the hinge issue. These have been replaced to prevent further problems.
    - The wicker chair with the small tear has been removed and replaced with a new Adirondack chair.
    - For more space in the bedroom, the vacuum cleaner has been relocated, and additional shelving is being considered. The TV may also be mounted above the bureau to create more room for guests.

Thanks for taking the time to leave your review. Your feedback helps us ensure that future guests have the best possible experience!

I had a great stay at this cottage. It is located just a minute off of Maine Coastal Rt. 1 and is an easy drive to Belfast. The cottage was clean and had a great cross breeze with the windows open (no AC needed!). I enjoyed day trips to Acadia NP as well as the Lobster Festival in Rockland.

  • Cottage in the woods

    4/5

Neat little house, well apportioned kitchen, with large freezer/fridge. Wonderful, quiet location, easy access to the regions' attractions.

The bed mattress and living area couch were horrible. I was unable to sleep on the mattress and ended up bringing in my camping therma-rest mattress after the first night. The couch was something that you'd find in a basement of an old frat-house...completely blown-out and deserving of the dump; I brought in my own folding chair in order to relax.

I would certainly recommend the house and location, but I was happy I had alternative seating and sleeping options.
