Location Details

Take full advantage of the canoe, paddle boat, and commercial grade raft available at the home and spend hours just floating along the peaceful waters of Long Pond. Because only 11-horsepower engine boats are allowed on the lake, you're guaranteed placid days on the water.

The spring fed lake is stocked with trout so bring your fishing gear and see who can catch the most fish in one afternoon!

Sunbathe on the dock and when you need a break from the sun, head to the cottage nestled in the wooded setting, turn on the Bluetooth indoor and outdoor speakers to hang out, grill some burgers on the gas grill, and relax with your family.

Bar Harbor and Acadia National Park are both within an hour of the lake. Acadia National Park is the second most visited national park in the United States. After you get your fix of the beautiful outdoors, head to Bar Harbor for plenty of dining, shopping, and tourist attractions!

Very private yard with beautiful view. I would visit again. I was not prepared for no tv (just DVD) but it was so nice didn't miss it. otherwise the house was well equipped and modern. Very comfortable and clean. Yard is full of chipmunks. Bring some unsalted nuts and snacks for them!

  • Wonderful Autumn Getaway at Great Pond Cottage

The property is beautiful and the cottage was clean and well appointed. The area is so quiet and the color change just made it all the more amazing. The views were stunning. It was the perfect spot to spend the week in Maine, allowing us to travel to lots of areas including Acadia, hike and take in nature, and also enjoy a cup of coffee and drink in the restorative peace of Long Pond and the surrounding woods. The perfect trip!

  • Awesome house

House is really nice and the location on the prestine lake is great.Property manager couldn't have been more accommodating. And the fishing wasn't bad... Will definitely come back here. Just note it s 23 miles to the nearest Dunkins, so bring your coffee!

  • A secluded getaway

If you are looking for a quiet getaway, away from the craziness of the world, this is it. Immaculate inside and our. Loved hearing the Loons and relaxing on the lake, hottub and hammock. About an hour from Bar Harbor and Acadia National Park.

  • Perfect Vacation

My husband and I started coming to Maine 10 years ago on our Honeymoon and fell in love with it. Since then we’ve come back almost every year with our kids, staying at all different vacation rentals. I have to say, although we’ve never had a bad experience, this lake house by far was the best! Everything about it was perfect for us. The house itself was so much like a home, with everything you could ever need for the week. It’s so beautifully decorated and comfortable. The outside was absolutely amazing with the lake and all the outdoor seating. We had so much fun fishing, paddling around on the peddle boat and raft. My favorite part was listening to all the loons. There were so many of them on this lake! You really don’t even need to leave. We did go to Schoodic point to go hiking and see the less crowded part of Acadia - which was maybe an hour drive. We are big hikers so we also hiked Chick Hill (the real hiking trail - not the road) for our second time. Mariaville falls is right down the street from this house which we found a few years ago and it is so beautiful there! A short hike to the falls with lots of fish and a little swimming hole for the kids.

One of the best parts of this home is the owner, Gene. He was so helpful and on top of everything. He loves his property so much and you can tell he really cares to make it just as enjoyable for others. Thank you so much for sharing this home!
