Lovely house. Stairs may be challenging for elderly/impaired persons, and all bedrooms are upstairs. Only real ocean view is from the kitchen window, but we saw one of the best sunsets ever from there.

Very clean, beautiful home. Comfy place, good to relax in after a whole day exploring Acadia NP and the quaint towns. Great communication with host. Thank you!

Overall lovely property and area! Dog and family loved sitting out in the Adirondack chairs, playing fetch in the lawn, and watching movies in the family room. A cozy-feeling home with nicely renovated kitchen and upstairs bath. One recommendation for improvement would be more frequent deep cleaning: clean under/behind the furniture, dust cobwebs in the ceiling and floor corners, and wear a hair net? - numerous long black hairs all throughout the house.

We had a family vacation here in late May 2024. This was an ideal spot for exploring all of Acadia National Park, Bar Harbor, and the surrounding cities. The home has four bedrooms upstairs. One queen bedroom, one full size bedroom, and two smaller bedrooms (one with two twin beds and one with one twin bed). Bedrooms are comfortable, each with closets and dressers, ample lighting and updated three prong outlets for charging devices. Larger queen bedroom has a small TV. A single bright, spacious bathroom upstairs features a copper soaking tub that holds heated water for a very long time. Perfect for after care from a long day of hiking.Ground floor begins with a mud room entry hall and a full bath with shower directly off the hall. Modern high efficiency washer and dryer right there for use. Guests enter through the modern, very well-equipped kitchen with gas range, dishwasher, large refrigerator with ice maker, and a giant island for food prep and service. It was very easy to make large dinners for 4-6 people. A table in the kitchen seats four, an adjacent dining room/living room has an additional table that seats six. Living room features a couch and chairs, large Samsung smart TV with Apple Airplay, and bright windows. Mesh Wi-Fi is quite good, we were able to enjoy HD streaming and device access out on the decks.Outdoor areas include four comfortable chairs on the entry deck, and chairs and tables that seat six on another deck on the opposite side of the house. This sunny and airy deck also has a large propane grill for cooking. The house is roughly 30 minutes from downtown Bar Harbor, and very close to many of the entrance roads to Acadia National Park. Bass Harbor Head Lighthouse is a short one mile hike away. There is a short path that leads to the water's edge. Exploring at low tide we found hundreds of pieces of glass and pottery, some dating back over a hundred years. Wildlife is everywhere. We saw deer in the yard on three separate occasions, and bald eagles nest in the trees to the southwest. Herons, gulls, and a variety of other birds enjoy the calm waters at the back of the cove.A few notes:Turn on the ice maker right away, it can take 24 hours to produce ice.Downstairs shower is far from the bedrooms, but this actually allowed for activity that let people sleep in.While there is a decent grocery story about 15 minutes away, we found it more prudent to stock up before arriving in the area. We would return!
