Mostly Okay Stay in Bangor
3/5 Charming Bangor Home was clean and had most everything stated in the listing. The downstairs futon is not functional for sleeping. So this house really sleeps 7 not 9. But it worked for us. We just moved one of the twin mattresses from upstairs and put it on the floor. The 2 biggest issues....
There was a continuous beeping coming from a locked closet in the kitchen. I contacted the owner when we arrived. They asked if it would be okay if they came the next morning to take care of it. I said of course, no problem. The never came by and never reached out again. It was quite annoying.
The other issue we had was that there were no screens in the upstairs windows. While we knew there wasn't air conditioning it would have been nice to be able to get cool fresh air in the stuffy, warm upstairs. There was a surprise small window air conditioner in the main bedroom that we ran and used a fan to blow out into the rest of the up stairs to try to cool off the other bedrooms. Luckily it wasn't too hot the June weekend we were visiting.

Hi Rebecca, we want our guests to rest easy when they stay with us, and we apologize you experienced some issues during your trip. We followed up with the homeowner after reading your feedback, and they wanted to share the following:
-The downstairs futon can sleep up to 2 guests, it extends to a full size bed.
-We apologize for the continuous beeping from the locked closet and the missed follow-up. This issue has been resolved to prevent it from happening again.
-We are in the midst of having window AC units installed but are doing it in between guest stays.
