Hike the Maryland AT
4/5 This is an excellent location to section hike the AT from Harpers Ferry to the Mason Dixon line. We anticipated being able to check in at 4PM, but when we arrived were told that check in was at 7PM! We negotiated to 5:30PM. The caretaker lives in the basement and is super friendly, but you can hear between the floors a bit. It was a clean space with easy access to a couple of restaurants and a grocery store. For a place to crash between our day hikes, it worked out very well.

Perfect spot
5/5 We wanted a place that was close to our daughter and granddaughter but still felt remote. This was the perfect place. We both love old homes and the character that makes them unique. Our hosts were so friendly and helpful. We are already planning to stay on our next visit.

Enjoyed our stay
4/5 The house and location were fantastic. We would have liked to have known that the owner lives in the basement, however. As 2 single women we were not happy to discover this fact after arriving. He was very nice, but because vrbo advertises that you 'get the whole house' we definitely were not expecting this to be the situation. Other than that, the house was lovely, clean and well-stocked.

5/5 We enjoyed our stay. We would have liked to have known before hand that there was someone in the basement. That startled us because we didn't see ether note until after we saw the person.
