  • Best sunsets yet!

    5/5

This place is a 10/10 if you enjoy privacy and the beauty of nature. Nestled on the edge of Long Pond with its own private beach, our cottage it was incredibly comfortable and well appointed. Plus the sunsets seen from inside or out were pure theater.

My queen-size bed was firm and covered in a very pretty quilt. Perfect summer weight. The top bed on my sister’s trundle was softer, but still fine. We never opened the bottom trundle or couch, but the couch itself was brand new and very comfortable.

There were 4 beautiful heavy duty Adirondack chairs and two full length loungers for my own private beach area. The beach was clean and had a natural mix of sand and grass. The lake was shallow which made it perfect for lounging on our floats, but house also had access to paddle boards and kayaks from landlord.

While landlords were in their own home in front of our cottage, they were very respectful of our privacy. We walked down the road daily as the state forest offered multiple hiking trails. Cottage had window AC which worked fine in 90degree weather. They also had an excellent dehumidifier that kept humidity in the cottage under 50 percent which was a godsend in the heat!

Not going to lie, the ride to the cottage down the shared driveway is epic and not for faint of heart. I was in an Acura RDX with rear wheel drive and had no problems at all, but I can see where four wheel drive would be needed during snowy/wetter seasons. They say be prepared to back up, but driveway is not busy so I only met another car once, the owner, and he backed up upon seeing me and we had a lovely chat as I squeezed by. They are not joking when they say screen shot or print directions, because while WiFi works fine in cottage, it does not work 1 mile out into woods.

All in all, we had a very nice time and plan on rebooking in fall for a quiet reboot

  • A peaceful week

    5/5

We truly enjoyed the quiet solitude of the cottage and Great South Pond. Beautiful spot. Watching the turtles sunbathe, and the swallows diving for fish. Fish jumping out of the water after insects. Canoeing, kayaking, ishing, and just reading on the little beach. If you want to get away from the crowds yet not be too far from the ocean and town conveniences, this is the place to go.

  • Perfect place to stay!

    5/5

I can not say enough about this property! This little cottage was so perfect for me & my 10 yr old boy! We had a great time swimming here, having Canadian Geese come right up to us practically, watching the bunnies in the morning, and seeing the deer here! It is a quiet, relax full, private wonderful place. The cottage is clean upon arrival, had clean bedding, with extra blankets if need be, towels provided, kitchen stocked with dishes, silverware, baking pans, cooking pans, hand mixer, blender, crockpot, & microwave. Has stacked washer & dryer. Had no issues here at all! John was wonderful answering any questions we had. I would definitely stay here again! It is out in country with a bumpy road but had no problems getting in or out anytime. We stayed here 2 weeks and are leaving tomorrow, we are sad to go from this wonderful getaway property!! Thank you!

  • Perfect relaxing piece of heaven

    5/5

From the moment we pulled in, we knew we found the perfect place. Steps away from the water, we were pretty much on our own the entire 6 days, except for the red-bellied cooters, cormorants, and other wildlife. The lapping water on the shore made for great sleep. We met the owner on the first day, who shared information about the history and fauna, as well as providing instructions for kayak use.The house had everything we needed, an updated interior, and very clean. Plymouth waterfront is 15 mins away, a great small-town feel that didn't feel overwhelmed with people in high season since it's spread out and has so much to do. We will definitely be back.Pay close attention to owners' directions (not GPS) in getting there.
