Take a quick 7-minute drive to the Bourne Bridge at the Cape Cod Canal and Mass Maritime Academy. Like striped bass? Drop a line at the Academy or anywhere else along the 7-mile canal. From the bridge it's 30 minutes to Hyannis or Woods Hole Oceanographic Museum. Both destinations have plenty to do and see on their own, and both have ferries available to take you to Martha's Vineyard or Nantucket.

If you're looking for a break from the Cape, spend the day in Boston! About 90 minutes from the property. Go to a Red Sox game, ride a swan boat, or take a Duck Tour and learn the history of one of America's oldest cities. Plymouth, MA is a 30-minute ride and offers plenty of its own history. Check out Plymouth Rock and the Mayflower, dine along the harbor, or visit the shops! Swim in the Atlantic at one of the public beaches, or take a whale watching cruise or a fishing charter out of Plymouth. The ferry can even take you to to Provincetown for the day.

Your vacation home is only 1 hour from Providence and Newport, where you'll find beautiful beaches, famous mansions, and an iconic downtown marina. You'll even pass the famous fishing ports of New Bedford and Fall River along the route!

Stay local for the day:

There is no need to go far to keep busy. Wareham has 3 public beaches on the warm Narragansett Bay - all within 10-15 minutes of the property. Scusset Beach State Park is on the Cape Cod Bay and only a 20 minute ride. Go roller-blading, biking, or jogging along the scenic Cape Cod Canal just 7 minutes away. The largest water park in Massachusetts, Water Whiz, is about 5 minutes away along with bumper cars, batting cages, and mini-golf. Speaking of golf, there are 30 public courses within 30 minutes of Agawam Drive!

Wareham has plenty to offer with all the souvenir shops, restaurants, flea markets, fishing spots, and more that you could ask for. Take a ferry ride up the canal, a deep sea fishing trip, or a booze cruise out of Onset harbor located 10 minutes from your vacation home.

We did not know much about neither the town nor the neighborhood before booking. There was not much available on the Cape, so it was the most suitable we could find. Location is not that great. You will have access to the river through the owner's property across the street, but to get to a beach or anywhere else you have to drive. The house has 4 bedrooms, but two of them are tiny. There is no central air. Most of the rooms have window AC units, but one of the bedrooms does not, only a fan. Bedroom's closets are tiny as well. The fridge was leaking and did not hold the temperature. The toilet in downstairs bathroom was not properly secured and was slightly moving. Three were some issues with the fuse box. Parents of the young children: be aware that there is a steep staircase down, right in the middle of the main floor. There is a deck, which we used a lot. The outside space is a good size, but it is not a real lawn and you would not let your kids run around barefoot. The owner, Mike is real nice. He met us at the house and showed around. He also offer to use his backyard and the peer for outdoor activities and the meals. There are two kayaks and the paddleboat you can use at any time. It was a highlight of the stay. Not sure about going back.

    Manager's Response:

    Hi Yury,

At Evolve we take great care in making sure our properties and amenities are well described with lots of professional photos and even a map to show the exact location of our vacation homes. Sorry for your confusion, this vacation home is not advertised as beachfront – although there are three public beaches within a 10-minute drive. This home is well described, is a modern home, and was completely remodeled in and out in 2016. As a split entry design, the short stairs greet you on entry and are all up to code. The owner provides child safety gates for the safety of little ones.

The Owner was available across the street during your stay and has a history of being very responsive to the needs of guests. Thank you for bringing the minor issues with the refrigerator and downstairs toilet to our attention. In speaking with the Owner, he apologizes for any inconvenience that you may have had. The repairs have been made but the Owner would have appreciated an opportunity to remedy them during your stay.

Thank you for your feedback and we’re glad to hear that you had an overall enjoyable visit to the Cape Cod area.

  • Clean, bright and well stocked

We were very comfortable in this home and the owners went over and above to welcome us and make us feel comfortable. We had PLENTY of room and the house had everything we could need and more. We didn't need to use the basement bedroom, which seemed a bit musty as most basements are, but the upstairs was clean, bright and comfortable.
