• Great Disappointment

  I would think twice before you consider this rental for it was not what it appeared to be. One tiny A/C unit upstairs did not help with major heat and humidity on first floor. House was musty and not well cleaned.

  Definitely make sure the grill is working as our barbeque plans were ruined because there was NO gas in the tank which meant we had to resort to cooking our supper in the already hot house.

  After many years renting on the Cape in the summer, this was our most expensive rental and by far our least favorite place. I would strongly suggest you do some homework and shop around before considering this rental.

• Perfect Cape Cod Cottage

  We loved our week long stay at the Citadel. The cottage is located in a very private setting, yet close to the beach and restaurants. The Citadel is more spacious than it appears; there is plenty of room inside and out to relax and enjoy the quiet peacefulness that the Brewster area has to offer. Sandy, (the owner) greeted us upon check in and made us feel welcomed. Sandy was available for any questions and made sure we had everything we needed to made our stay enjoyable- she even provided plenty of fresh bird food to keep the cardinals, blue jays, finches, and hummingbirds coming back to feed. The cottage was sparkling clean and outfitted with everything you could possibly need to have a great stay rain or shine. We loved the layout and enjoyed all the artwork and decorations. The living room is set up nicely with plenty of room to relax and simply enjoy the fresh breeze or watch TV. The kitchen is large and very well equipped; it was nice to have a kitchen table and couch by the sliding glass door to enjoy the beautiful birds, chipmunks and rabbits in their natural environment while enjoying a cup of coffee or an evening meal. The separate laundry room had nice high capacity washer and dryer which was a plus. Although we only used the master bedroom, the additional first and second floor bedrooms were set up nicely with plenty of room for additional guests. There was also plenty of room outside to sit and enjoy the quietness. The covered patio table was a great hang out and eating spot. Evolve Vacation Rental Network was also a pleasure to deal with. • Paradise Found in Brewster.

  We loved our week at The Citadel in Brewster. All too often, vacation rentals have that rental feeling, but staying at The Citadel was like coming home. It was so comfortable and well equipped, we were relaxed from day one. It's a private, peaceful setting and the natural beauty of the grounds together with chipmunks, birds and rabbits scurrying about, make this enchanted cottage unforgettable. Just a fifteen minute walk to the beach and short drive to downtown Dennis for shopping, adds convenient proximity to the package. We had a wonderful vacation week and starting off each day with breakfast in The Citadel was a big part of it. We're hoping to return next summer. Thanks again, Rick and Eileen.

• Absolutely Charming!

  If you are looking for a truly authentic 1900 Cape experience this is the place to stay! The entire cottage as been restored to the original time that it was built and is full of beautiful antiques. It has a warm and welcoming feeling when you enter and is filled with character and charm.There is everything from books to games for rainy day activities as well.The grounds are beautiful landscaped with plenty of bird watching to be had. We meet the gracious owner who gave my 13 year old a history lesson on the property which he found fascinating! We will be coming back again and highly recommend this cottage as an outstanding place to stay!
