• Comfortable, Convenient, Quaint!

  This A-frame cabin was the perfect location for some Berkshire R&R. Close to so many of western MA's greatest attractions, we had a great time visiting Tanglewood and museums, and touring local towns and restaurants. The property was clean, as described, and very comfortable. Communicating with our hosts was very simple. We will be happy to return!

• Great location, comfy beds, so so everything else

  Ideally located close to the Appalachian Trail and Jacob’s Pillow.

  The beds were comfortable and the kitchen was sufficient.

  Every thing else was so-so. The yard was unkept, the hammock was moldy, and the interior wasn’t really set up to gather - small table, disconnected furniture.

  Most frustratingly, We sent multiple messages and emails to our local host and never received any replies. Even after contacting Evolve, we did not get a reply.

  -Our property is mowed and weeded on a regular basis, including shortly before your stay, and a photoshoot conducted immediately after your checkout reflects the current condition of the yard. These updated photos can be viewed in our listing.
  -We apologize for the condition of the hammock and appreciate you bringing it to our attention. We are ordering a new hammock to ensure this does not happen again.
  -Our property features a collection of vintage mid-century furniture, showcased in our listing photos. We offer various seating and gathering areas, both in the living room and on the front porch. The dining table comfortably seats four (and up to six in a pinch), designed to maximize the floor space of our unique A-frame home layout.
  -We are concerned to hear about the communication issues you faced. Our guest contact is always available, and are now adding a printed sign with easy contact information to prevent any future issues. We will also follow up with our local host to understand the situation better.

  The stairs are a challenge if you have an elderly person or younger child with you. Nice porches to sit out on.

• Great Location, Critters Not a Plus

  ⚠️ if you are tall/heavy do beware it's a smaller staircase & the walkway between the upstairs has some loose-ish boards that are not very heavy duty & spread out. We just minded our step & went slow, but we are not very heavy/tall

  ⚠️ day 1 we didn't have any open food, second morning we noticed some ants, nothing major. We're in the woods, price was affordable not too bothered, came back to an army more, you couldn't really prep near the stove without several six legged friends nearby

  ❌️ day 2 we are making dinner & while looking for the source of the ants, find many mouse droppings. Prompting more looking around, there was more around the floor & on the counters. I messaged the property manager to see if it would be ok if we checked out early. The property manager was responsive & told us she would let the owner know what property we were in, 3 days later no word from Evolve, they were very responsive prior.

  ❌️ heard mice 2nd night getting into a bag of chips that had been opened, fresh pee on floor when using bathroom at night

  ✅️ good location to travel to hiking + lots of attractions

  ✅️ hard to find initially, but the warnings from host were helpful & made this not *too* stressful

  ✅️ bedding was really nice & comfortable

  ✅️ decor was really nice, lots of fans!

  ✅️ kid friendly with babygates, plug covers & thoughtful toys that were engaging for babies up to young teens & it DOES have a TV (listing says no and we came with our own games + toys but didn't really need any)

  Hi Sidney, we take guest feedback seriously and passed your comments on to the homeowner who would like to share the following:
  - We sincerely apologize for the issues you encountered during your stay. We have a professional pest services firm on a monthly, year-round contract and have asked them to increase the frequency of visits during the summer months, with particular attention to ants and mice. We will also make sure to note for guests that, because this is a vintage cabin in the woods, it is best to keep food stored overnight. To help guests store food overnight, we have ordered airtight, BPA-free storage containers that will be available for guests to use. Additionally, we will be deep-cleaning the property prior to the next guest check-in.
  - Regarding the catwalk, we are re-securing the loose floorboard and checking for others. A screw had come loose on one board, and we appreciate you bringing this to our attention. The staircase is narrow with a somewhat low overhang, so we have painted the area and installed reflectors to make it easier to navigate. However, this property may not be ideal for guests with mobility challenges.
  - We have found our property manager to be very responsive, though she was dealing with a family health emergency during your stay. We have also followed up directly with Evolve to address your comments about communication.
  We appreciate your positive comments about the location, bedding, decor, and child-friendly features. Your feedback is invaluable in helping us improve our guests' experiences.
