VRBO should noy allow this homeowner to rent this priperty out to anyone. Renter beware and read the oyher negative comments; it is unbelievable anyone in the past year had a positive experience. The pics on the site must be very old and heavily edited. This home smells like rotted wood, sewer and a hint of mold. Not only is the front porch, back porch and all outside stairs half rotted they are also gaping and falling down. Inside, once you get over the dog hair and cobwebs, you will meet the local insects coming through the large window frame in the kitchen wich is falling out of the house and is stuffed with paper towels in an effort to keep the outside, out, but never mind it also is the window next to the celing fan/light combo with the exposed wires hanging right next to it. Upon arriving the kitchen trash was full and a water bowl (which we'd fund out later was the owners dog) were left out for us to dispose of. The television service did not work and the owner did call out service and once repaired the next day, invited himself right in the back door with his dog (small breed with an agressive attitude) and sat at the kitchen table, as if we weren't paying to stay. There is a "tenant" that lives behind the house who helps himself to the back porch and whatever is underneath the house, so beware.

Wow this place is rough. It really is nothing like the pictures. I am just trying to warn the next people. It has a lot of palmetto bugs (or roaches). These things were big and you can hear them walking across the floor. It just has not been taken care of to have people pay to stay here. I would not return.

This house is a true Louisiana home with a lot of history. Great location to all the restaurants and places to see. We felt very comfortable and our host is kind and considerate. We will definitely stay here again.

This property was fantastic for our weekend get away. It felt very private. The house is large and has plenty of extras. My favorites were the large porch accessible from our bedroom, heated bathroom floors and a bidet! We highly recommended it! May or may not be haunted, if you're interested in that sort of thing.
