  • Disrepair

    1/5

The only positive thing I can say is this was fairly close to everything by a short car ride. If I had the time to try to book something else, I would have after the first night. The entire place is in a state of disrepair. The flooring is barely put on with several open spots/holes and nails in random places. Roaches every day. There was a bug on top of the comforter for one bed right when I got there. The noise from the critters in the walls/ceiling makes it impossible to sleep, not to mention the train shaking the already shabby house. My dog hurt his paw when he stepped on the back stair and it immediately broke, leaving him limping for 2 days. Because the fence was broken we could not even let the dogs out, which was the main reason we got a house out further. It is too dangerous in the yard anyways as underneath the house is completely open and disgusting -trash, wood scraps with nails sticking out, old chairs, and the half-empty box for the vinyl flooring used inside were just thrown under there. The toilet is literally on a scrap of wood? The shower head is barely attached, it flipped all the way over and sprayed water into the bathroom. Was I expecting an amazing stay for the price? No, but I'm genuinely shocked airbnb would even allow a dump like this on the site. I couldn't wait to get home, shower, and bathe the dogs.

  • Over priced for quality of home and area

    1/5

Home had small issues: stained mattresses, cracked floors, water leak in back yard (repaired the 2nd day), bad neighborhood, neighbors parking in front of drive, roaches (alive and dead)

  • Not the cleanest but we had a good time-cute house

    3/5

To be fair, I did not reach out to the property manager until we left to let them know about the condition of the house. It was not the cleanest. There were also birds living in the attic which made some interesting noises. There are railroad tracks behind the house and they were constantly working at night (not sure thats a normal thing). The floors needed repairing in places which made us a little nervous. Overall we had a great time, not too far from bourbon street-fairly cheap uber ride

  • Solid option for budget travellers

    4/5

Overall, we enjoyed our stay here but have a few things that future guests should take into consideration before booking.

We would have appreciated sheets/linens for the room with the futon and air mattress, as the futon was a little dirty with crumbs when we got there. There were also no hand towels/tea towels in the kitchen.

The house is located directly in front of train tracks where a freight train runs at night. It was pretty noisy and the house would shake, so bring your earplugs if you are a light sleeper.

There was a discrepancy with the key-code we were given under the link to the check-in instructions versus the actual key-code. Thankfully the host was very responsive and immediately answered my call. I recommend double checking the code with the host before arriving.

The house is conveniently located within walking distance to the 57 bus stop and is a 15-20 minute bus ride to the French Quarter.

Overall, this place is a solid option if you're traveling on a budget and don't mind staying a little further out from the main tourist attractions.
