    This is a super nice house with lots of potential. It is obvious it is still under renovation, but that did not affect anything about our stay. It was cozy, quiet and has lots of space! The owner was very friendly and easy to reach. New internet was put in on our first day there and worked beautifully. It’s out from town on quite a bit of land, but a close drive to most area attractions! Deer visited us daily. It was clean and very comfortable!

    The outside still needs some work, but we could tell they were working on it. A few notes for future guests:

    1. Don’t judge the house by the outside at all. It’s such a pretty place. It is not perfect since they are working on it, but it is very nice and comfortable.

    2. Watch the front steps. The distance from the last step up to the porch was steep and difficult for my mom. We improvised, but she did have a hard time getting up on to the porch.

    3. The views are beautiful! I hope as the back deck is redone, they will add some outdoor seating. There are a few barstools on the “smoking patio” but some seating on the deck when it’s done or on the front porch would be amazing. We would have spent most of our time out there watching the deer!

    4. There are no curtains or blinds in the upstairs bedrooms. There are privacy screens so no one can see in. Lots of natural light comes in, even at night. Carry a sleep mask if you need dark at night.

    We would definitely stay again and would most definitely rent again from this owner!!

    Our stay was very enjoyable here. The wifi was down but after speaking with the Host and cable company, it turned out to be a tower issue but that made the best family time we've had in a long time. No distractions of TV's, tablets, etc. Plenty of room for all of us to come together as a group or nap without being disturbed.

  • Potential

    This property has potential to be great but needs the renovations completed. There rubbish outside the property and the torn down fence is an immediate eye sore. Two of the bedrooms are not true bedrooms. They are sitting areas with no doors that have beds in them. Causing some of my guest to get hotels for privacy. The kitchen sink is deplorable and unusable. The odor from the garbage disposal wrecks throughout the house, which already had a stinch that you could smell over the thousand plugins. The house was overcrowded with odds and ends from yard sales. There were holes in the floor and an old rug was taped down. The furniture was old and felt sticky. The three bedrooms were ok but definitely hadnt been cleaned as there were dead bugs and dust everywhere. The fact that the temparature was controlled by the owners was absurb. There were noticeable major improvements and updates to the home but the outstanding renovations took away from the stay. 6 out of 10 of us only stayed because we couldnt get a refund and didnt want to pay for a hotel. New furniture, cleaning, and finished renovations would make this the jewel advertised. I suggest not renting again until then!

The basement and garage are not available for guest use, we apologize if this was accessible during your stay. While our property is indeed located in a rural part of Kentucky and offers a rustic charm, we understand that the exterior appearance, including the fence and the presence of planting containers, may not have been to your expectations.

    Outdoor Appearance: The rustic charm of our farm property is something many of our guests appreciate, but we understand that the appearance of the fence and the containers used for planting may not be to everyone's taste.

    Enhanced Privacy in Bedrooms: We take the concerns and comfort of our guests seriously and are grateful for your feedback regarding the privacy of the sleeping areas. In response to your insights, we’ve already upgraded the rooms that were previously adapted into bedrooms, implementing measures to significantly enhance their privacy and comfort. We are also in the process of revising our online listings, with updated photos and descriptions to come, ensuring that future guests have a clear and accurate understanding of the accommodations we offer. This initiative is part of our ongoing commitment to improving guest experiences and ensuring our property meets the high standards we set for comfort and satisfaction.

    Cleanliness and Maintenance: The condition of the kitchen sink and the oversight by our cleaning staff regarding the fish in the dishwasher are unacceptable. We have addressed this with our team to ensure it does not happen again. The temporary fix with the rug over cracked tiles is indeed a safety measure, but we are expediting the floor repairs to avoid such makeshift solutions.

    Pest Control and Temperature: Located on a farm, we consistently utilize pest control services, and we're now reassessing their scheduling to enhance effectiveness. Given the interval between cleanings and bookings, it's possible for pests to surface occasionally. To address this, we're collaborating with our cleaning staff to conduct an extra inspection before new guests arrive, aiming to reduce the presence of pests. The temperature setting is implemented to keep utility costs in check, yet guest comfort remains our priority. We invite future guests to communicate any need for temperature adjustments during their stay—your comfort is important to us, and we're here to make the necessary accommodations.

    Communication: We regret not being informed of these issues during your stay, as we were unaware of your concerns. We urge all our guests to communicate with us about any issues or requirements they might have while staying with us. We are always ready to accommodate reasonable requests to improve your experience.
