The house was spacious and comfortable for the 10 of us. It was well equipped with a cabinet of games and lots of outside seating. The long table was handy for making homemade pizzas. The open floor concept allowed lots of room for our little ones to play and the high chair was a plus. Bring firewood if you want a fire. The walk down to the dock was a bit rough because the lake level was low and the stairs didn’t go all the way to the dock. The dock has a rough wake and it beat up our wave runners. The neighborhood launch is narrow and I wouldn’t recommend using it for pontoons. A few miles away there is an excellent launch at General Burnside Island State Park with lots of parking. We didn’t care for that end of the lake because there weren’t many coves to hang out in. We loved the house and now want to buy a lake house.

Hi, we’re so glad you enjoyed the cabin and appreciated the space, big table, open floor plan, and games. I’m sorry some parts of the lake experience weren’t what you hoped for—those are out of our control, but we do understand how they can affect a stay. Best of luck with your lake house search, and thank you again for staying with us!
We very much enjoyed our stay at Jr’s Place. The only complaint we would have is that the dock/water access was very difficult to get to. The water level was way down when we were there so that did affect the dock and access to it, but if you are looking for water access this probably isn’t it. There are no pictures to show this on the listing. Otherwise, the owners were very pleasant and easy to work with. We would stay there again but plan our lake access differently.

Hi Ben & Melissa
Thanks so much for coming to stay at Jr's Place, our cabin on Lake Cumberland! We are so glad that you had such an enjoyable trip, this is what we hoped for when we decided to host our cabin as a vacation rental. We hope that you will consider coming back again to stay with us. A little helpful information because the Army Corps of Engineers regulates the Lake water level for damn control, in the earlier months of the summer the water level at summer pool is as much as 20 feet higher. This will make the water access much easier.
We look forward to another visit with you next year.
Thanks again and God Bless

Great place to stay w plenty of parking and easy access to the lake via boat ramp or walk down the hill for adventurous folks. We had 15 of my family last weekend and were very comfortable. I would stay again and recommend this place. Thanks to the owners.

We rented this cabin for my parents' 40th Anniversary weekend. Our whole family (kids and grandkids) got together for the weekend and enjoyed our time together immensely. The home has plenty of space so everyone can spread out but also nice communal space to spend time together playing games, etc., as well. Our family loved the large game cabinet full of board games. Our only real complaint was the stairs. We had a couple falls while we were there. They are wood and slick and pretty steep. Just something to keep in mind depending on who all you have staying.

Hi Angie, thanks for sharing your experience! After reviewing your comments, the homeowner wanted to share:
- The home's staircase can't be structurally altered or carpeted, but we've added sturdy handrails for safety.
- A half-door gate at the bottom of the stairs helps protect children or guests who prefer not to use them.
- An alternate exterior staircase is available as an easier option.
- Many guests appreciate the home's unique character, but we understand the stairs may be challenging for some.
