  I wanted to take time prior to leaving my review, to really allow our trip to settle into my mind. I wnated to see how I felt about it after the fact, as recency bias is a powerful thing. With that being said, I'm about 45 days removed and felt it was time to get my review. With that said....

  Staying at this location has absolutely changed my mindset and how I feel about what a vacation should be. To note, it's not that I'm a big city guys; but more so that I never fancied myself as the type to desire being in a cabin in the middle of nowhere surrounded by a forest and animals. I love animals, but...this entire location was not my vibe. I found myself booking this spot, as my son(10) desperately wanted to visit Mammoth Caves. My father(76) has the mentality of, "I always say yes, let's go." After extensive research, we landed on this location. I thought it looked pretty, but assumed I'd find myself bored.

  Oh how very wrong I was...

  The entryway to property was really, really cool. The short drive back, very cool. We unloaded the car and was greeted by a curious pup. Good first sign. We also saw the goats and my kid lost his mind. Once we were able to get in and unpack; we realized we were some place special.

  The space is perfect, the location perfect, everything was perfect. There is something to be said for being a bit off the grid, surrounded by beautiful property, nature and those adorable goats that unlocked a piece of me I didn't know exist. I instantly found myself wanting to spend more than 3 days here, and could picture myself just relaxing out front listening to and experiencing nature. My son absolutely loved feeding the goats and mini horse crackers and bread. We went through 4 loaves! The furniture was comfortable, beds very comfortable and I truly had some of the best sleep I'd had in months. This place is almost heaven.

  Weeks and now a month+ after our trip, I still find myself longing to return. When days get stressful at work, I think about sitting around a fireplace with my youngest son and father; enjoying time and conversations with them. Simply enjoying life.

  This property deserves the highest praise, and I very much encourage anyone even remotely interesting to give it a shot. You never know what this type of property can unlock inside of you. It was an absolute dream and I cannot wait to return.

  Having a petting zoo in the backyard is an absolute dream come true for kids! One goat got out and followed us around. My daughter fell in love with the goat, and spent so much time outside! We had so much fun here!

  Can’t speak to the heat, but the cooling system is wonderful! The heat index was 110-degrees during our stay. The cool cabin was a welcome reprieve from the heat! Our kids loved playing with the farm animals, especially the dogs that came to visit. The cabin is clean and comfortable. The kitchen has all the utensils, pots, and pans you need if you’re eating in. It really had everything we needed for a beautiful, private home-base from which to explore the surrounding area.

  Our family loved the generous outdoor space, the interaction with farm animals, the playground, the friendly farm dogs and the private porch and fire pit space at the back of the house.
