We stayed here for a week with my family visiting the bourbon trail and a music festival in Louisville! It was a really cool, backwoods location. The property sits on top of a hill overlooking the river. It's such a pretty scene. The cabin itself has very comfortable beds, bathrooms, and all around living quarters! Fast internet and three Roku TVs! I know the beds in cabins can be a toss up but these were very exceptional. But I'm writing this three star review to let the owner and also future renters know about the quirks of the place. First of all, the listing advertised a GAS grill, and what was at the cabin was a tiny charcoal grill that was so rusted out we barely could use it even after wrapping the grates in foil. No charcoal on site either. We planned on grilling out for most of the trip and we quickly had to pivot our plane because of that, which was a bummer. The coffee maker did not work. We went to the nearest Walmart and bought a $20 one and donated it to the cabin, because YEESH. Hearing the old folks not able to have their morning coffee on vacation is not fun. Also, the outside has a beautiful wrap-around porch but absolutely ZERO patio furniture. I know this particular area isn't exactly a tourist, "cabin-centric" area but I've never been to a cabin that didn't have AMPLE outdoor seating. We didn't have room in our vehicles to pack any of our own lawn chairs, so we had to revert to sitting on the grass and steps by the porch. A simple patio set would do wonders. When I go to a cabin by the woods and river, I like to sit next to a fire. Well, there was a fire pit on the property, I guess you could say. It was awkwardly small and I'm not sure if I could even stack a few logs on it. It was kind of a head-scratcher. Why not have a big metal pit and a couple chairs out there? I would have loved to sit by the fire.Despite these quirks, it was a relaxing stay. It's interesting to watch people loading and unloading their boats on the boat ramp nextdoor. You aren't exactly secluded though. Neighbor kids ride four wheelers on the edge of the property. Some guy has a camper only a couple hundred yards away from the cabin, the groundskeeper I'm guessing? He seemed friendly, and was rarely seen all week. With a few updates this place could really be a getaway. I would stay again for the nice bed and river view alone, for the right price.

Hi Austin, your review is appreciated, and we're thankful for your time sharing your experience. Upon reviewing your feedback, we've connected with the homeowner, who wanted to share the following:
- The listing is being updated to reflect that the cabin now features a brand new barrel charcoal grill. While we don’t provide charcoal on-site, there are stores nearby where guests can purchase it.
- The old coffee maker has been removed, and we apologize for the inconvenience it caused during your trip.
- Patio furniture was available in the garage, but it should have been set up on the deck. We’ve addressed this with our service team to make sure it’s placed properly for future guests.
- The fire pit is designed to comfortably accommodate a fire for the number of people the cabin can host. Since the area often experiences heat advisories, we’ve chosen a smaller design for safety.
- While the property next door occasionally has visitors with a camper, we’re updating our listing to clarify that the property isn’t entirely isolated, as this is something beyond our control.
Thank you again for providing such valuable feedback, and we’re glad to hear that you enjoyed the beds and river view. We’re always striving to improve, and we hope to host you again for an even more seamless stay!

We enjoyed our stay while being in Kentucky. We loved the river and watching the barges go by. The kids even did some fishing. There was plenty of room in the cabin. I was a little disappointed to see there were only 2 showers upon arrival since the description read 4 full baths, but we made it work just fine.
Also, a plus was having wifi and plenty of choices on the TV.

The property was a lovely A-Frame building with room for extra guests or children upstairs. Each bedroom had their own bathrooms and the large deck overlooking the mighty Ohio River was fascinating to watch the large barges going past day & night. There is a large front yard for the children to run around. However, it is a rural location on the water, so bring your groceries a head of time.
