4/5 The house was as advertised. Some reviews mentioned the trains, and I wasn't concerned, living near trains myself, but just be aware that you WILL hear AND feel the trains. The first night there, the house was actually shaking a bit. This wouldn't prevent us from visiting again, but definitely something to be aware of so it doesn't catch you off-guard. Reviewers also mentioned nearby houses having windows and doors boarded up, which seems unusual, but the regardless of that, the area DID feel safe. The house is close to campus, many restaurants in the downtown area.

3/5 The house itself is a diamond in the rough. Tough neighborhood with boarded up houses that are not well kept. This house is well kept for an older home, however and the decor is modern. The bedrooms were adequate with clean linens and the bathrooms were functional. The hall bath upstairs has a mismatched toilet seat which is more of an eyesore than anything. The kitchen was well stocked. Not sure when the last guests were before us, but the floors were dusty and with dead spiders in some of the corners. The air conditioning didn’t work the second night. The property manager was out of town so was unable to attend to the issue other than to troubleshoot via the phone. Second night was a rough one. We were there for a football game and it was close enough to all of the action. Some great restaurants nearby, including the Crooked Ewe.
