'Rush Farmhouse' is truly the perfect home base for your outdoor adventures in Southern Illinois! Great hunting abounds all year long just steps from your back door. The fishermen in your group will want to take a quick trip down the road for fishing at Fort Massac State Park or Shawnee National Forest.
Shawnee National Forest lies 5 miles from the house and is your go-to destination for hiking, birding, rock climbing, swimming, and much more! Be sure to check out the bike trail, about 3 miles away, that meanders alongside the river and ends at the state park. If water is more your element, take advantage of the on-site boat parking and utilize the one of the many boat ramps along the Ohio River.
Those who enjoy quilting will want to visit the National Quilt Museum in Paducah and check out the annual quilt show, hosted every April, in historic Paducah! Gather with quilters across the country for demonstrations and to see some fantastic artwork.

Country all the way
5/5 This was a great retreat. We enjoyed all the coyotes howling at night and the quiet area. It is rural but there were towns close to go to if you wanted. If I am in that area again I would use that house!!
