What an amazing stay!
5/5 We came in for a girls weekend, and for The Black and Gold Ball in Rockford. The cottage is beautiful, and Doug and Mari are the greatest hosts we’ve experienced ever! We were welcomed with freshly baked chocolate chip cookies, and the cottage was so welcoming and comfortable to stay. They have the cutest chicken coop in the back yard and they provided us with fresh eggs! There’s also a nice patio area and they supplied all the things to make s’mores! We can’t wait to come back for another stay!

Getaway temporary home
5/5 It was the best amazing place I ever stayed in many years I enjoyed so much it’s so comfortable and relaxing we didn’t want to go out and we wish we have booked for more days since it was a short time. However, we are planning to come back soon and enjoy the place again and see also Rudy😃thank you so much Dough and Mari you guys did a great job making us feel home.

Amazing stay
5/5 My partner and I stayed at the stone mill cottage for three nights and wouldn’t change one thing about our stay. The hospitality and attentiveness from the owners was something that is rare to find these days - yet they set the bar extremely high and made sure we had everything and more that we could possibly need during our stay. From complimentary snacks to everyday household items, they had it! I’m not one to write reviews but our stay and experience here was so beyond our expectation in the best way possible that we had to share with potential future renters. If you’re at all considering renting the stone mill cottage I would 100% recommend. We will definitely be renting again for our next county thunder excursion or if we’re just back in the area for that matter!
