We stayed here for 2 weeks. My main concern prior to arrival was being so close to Metra train tracks. We could hardly hear the trains, so it was not a problem. Neighborhood was very quiet. Pros: 1) Perla, our host, was excellent at communicating and handling any questions or concerns 2) Extra large backyard was perfect for our dog 3) great location; close to family & friends Cons: 1) No convenient access to a washer/dryer-this could be difficult for longer stays2) Older home that is still a work in progress 3) As of August 2023, windows do not have screens. If you want to open windows for fresh air, bugs can get inside too

We chose this house for its location between reunion events we traveled to. It was comfortable for us as a family. The host was very gracious, leaving us treats as a welcome and when she discovered we had dogs she gifted them too. We really enjoyed the interaction with her as a host for that reason.Six traveled, all adults and the house fit us well. The house has two full bathrooms but be aware of some water pressure issues. There is no laundry so pack accordingly. The kitchen is well stocked to support homecooked dinners. The decor was very comfortable. The large backyard is fenced in so you can let a dog out without a leash - very nice for us travelers. The approach to the house does not give it justice as a neighboring house gives a first timer some concerns. However the neighborhood felt safe, grocery/pharmacy are close by, and restaurants are close by (check out a Chicago tradition with Lou Malnatis Pizza). We enjoyed our trip and the house complemented that enjoyment.

House price is in line with the finish and cleanliness. Host was very nice and responsive. Hot water in one of the showers was very difficult to regulate. House was cute, Kitchen was very nice. Yard was a bit overgrown and there was a distinct odor of dog. All things very easy to fix so hopefully owner will make the improvements for the next guests.

If I could give 4.5 stars I would, as this property was a great home base for my family’s recent trip to the Chicago area. The home has a nice layout that can easily accommodate a whole family, and even comfortably hosted additional visitors for dinner. We didn’t cook much (Yummy Asian Bistro was a particular hit) but the kitchen was well-stocked to do so. The foyer with skylights was a lovely space for me to practice yoga in every day, he yard is relatively large, and there are many other thoughtful details, especially helpful for those with young children, such as most outlets being protected. The street on which it is located is peaceful and quiet, and although it isn’t the ritziest neighborhood in the area, it is very conveniently located to many stores, restaurants, etc., and also to major roads & highways to get to other areas of the suburbs or to downtown Chicago. The property owner is very friendly and welcoming, and check in and check out were smooth.
My only disappointment was with the sensitivity of the plumbing - while I appreciate that homes with septic systems need a little more TLC, the water pressure in the en suite bathroom was uncomfortably weak (all of us ended up sharing the shower in the second bathroom, which was good), and the need to dispose of used toilet paper in the wastebasket was, in my opinion, a bit inconvenient and unsanitary. But, given the lack of good accommodations in the area and all the other advantages of the property, I wouldn’t consider that a deal-breaker for a return stay. Thanks very much!
My family and I got to spend memorial weekend here, and can I just say, it's such an amazing place. We had two toddlers with us and the place definitely was kid-friendly enough for the kiddos to run around. They even had toys for the kids to play with! The host was super responsive and nice! The backyard was huge enough for our dogs to run around. The area was quite and nothing bad happened. Close enough to grocery stores and a few restaurants. Will be coming back here!
