A group of 9 of us enjoyed a late summer stay at this beautiful lake home.
The Pro’s:
the kitchen is beautifully appointed, there are plenty of towels and linens, the deck is huge, the location is great and the view is spectacular!
The Con’s:
The home is lovely but the bathrooms did not appear to have been cleaned in the turnover between guests. There was hair and grime on the floors behind the door and many dead bugs in the shower. A 5pm check in seemed quite late, especially after a long day of travel to get there. I don’t recall the ad mentioning that there was a steep set of stairs to get to the dock or beach. Water access is off the dock or by climbing down big, slippery boulders. Not a problem for our group but would be challenging for elderly or disabled and there is no safe, shallow area/lake entry for little ones. The biggest disappointment for us was that the property advertised as having a dock and a boat lift. The lift was not operational and you cannot tie up to the dock overnight. The owner failed to disclose this until 2 days prior to our arrival, necessitating short term moorage at the nearby marina for $150/day. The property contact apologized for the inconvenience and stated that she had discussed with the owner who would be crediting us 1 night stay to help offset the cost of the moorage, she even gave us an Evolve case # and advised the credit may take a week or 2 to come thru. After returning home I received an email from Evolve notifying me that a credit for a fraction of the amount discussed had been issued. I’ve provided copies of the correspondence about the credit and am still waiting for resolution but this experience definitely left a bad taste in our mouths about both the property and renting thru Evolve.
Hi Kim, thanks for taking the time to review your stay. After reading your feedback, the homeowner wanted to share the following:
- We're delighted to hear that you found the home lovely and enjoyed its location. Your positive feedback is greatly appreciated.
- We also want to thank you for your feedback regarding cleaning. Your comments have been shared with our cleaning team to improve their services and ensure that the entire house, including the bathrooms, is cleaned to the highest standard between every stay.
- The check-in and check-out times are clearly stated in the listing to allow enough time for our team to prepare the home, especially when we have guests checking out and checking in on the same day.
- Regarding the boat and dock, we apologize if there was any misunderstanding. The listing has always indicated that there are no overnight boats tied to the dock due to the risk of damage from nighttime winds. We've since removed the boat lift from the listing as an amenity. For guests who wish to bring boats, there is public access 2 miles down the road where they can safely place their boats.
Once again, we appreciate your feedback, and we hope you had an overall pleasant stay.
We loved our visit may 2022. Great location and energy. We enjoyed the hottub, beds and unique shape. Would love to return!!

Great spot for a ladies' getaway. Close to skiing. Also enjoyed shopping in town - great thrift stores. Pend'oreille Winery had great wine and food. Well stocked kitchen. Inside lighting at night was poor.

Seven 60+year old ski buddies on our annual ski trip. The views from the deck were incredible and the location was very convenient to Schweitzer ski area and shopping. We had no issues with the property and the property manager quickly responded to the few questions we had.
