Lace up your hiking boots or strap on your helmet and explore one of the many surrounding hiking and biking trails in Payette National Forest. It will be easy to lose yourself in the stunning natural beauty of Central Idaho.
If you prefer tracks to trails, drive just under 30 minutes to McCall and visit the Brundage Mountain Ski Resort, which offers 1,500 acres, 5 chairlifts and over 300 inches of annual snowfall! 15 miles past McCall you'll find Tamarack Ski Resort for even further fun in the fresh powder!
Looking for a thrill? Head to the whitewater capital of the world, Riggins, for a rafting adventure with the family! The waters also offer fantastic fly fishing for those looking to reel in a few.

This is not rustic!
5/5 Unless you want it to be! (by not using or partaking of all the amenities this has to offer!) Wow! What a great time we had, luxurious home, huge usable 3-sided porch, incredibly stocked kitchen, flat out comfortable!! We spent a lot of time on the deck following the shade and just kinda hanging out. A bit of road noise from vehicles a mile or so away, but nothing to spoil the setting and view out across the wooded meadow. For 5 nights we cooked all our meals but one, not short of pots and pans, seasoning, spices, utensils, it was enjoyable not to have to go to town mid way through our stay to get something we had forgotten-it is all there! Mary set up her sewing machine and cut, pieced and stitched on a couple quilts while I took a couple days to ride the 85 mile Weiser River Trail that is a part of the Rails to Trails network, and get some recreational reading done. The last few years we have been taking off this time of year for some serious detachment from the day to day. While there is wifi here, there is no cell phone unless you go down the road a piece. It suited our goals perfectly! We very much enjoyed our stay in the pines surrounding this lovely home.

5/5 Overall impression was great. The cabin suited our needs, a family of 6. We enjoyed the fire pit as well as the fireplace in the living room. The owner was extremely helpful. The first night, we realized that we needed another chair for the dining area, as well as a couple additional chairs for the back patio. Also a minor thing but important!, was that we could not find any wine glasses. I called him, and within 30 minutes we had all the chairs we requested, wine glasses as well as a bottle of wine delivered to the cabin! The only disappointment was the stream. We were expecting a flowing stream to enjoy with all the other great amenities of the property. But it evidently had dried up some time ago.
