We absolutely loved our quick stay here. The house was clean and we were able to have our pets with us. It's a great location and is in a very quiet, relaxed neighborhood.
The property description was accurate regarding the space, but many other aspects were misleading. While the yard was lovely, we encountered issues with the neighbors, who made it clear that they did not want us there. We experienced yelling and felt unsafe, with their dog barking incessantly at our children while they issued threats, such as telling us their dogs would jump the fence at our children who were not instigating anything. Phrases like 'get out' and 'go home' were directed at us multiple times.Additionally, the condition of the property itself was disappointing. The cleanliness was subpar, with dirty furniture that was either broken or worn. When raising the blinds, we found dead bugs—lots of them—on every windowsill, and there was food residue all over the cabinets in the kitchen. One of the beds had a mattress that sagged significantly in the middle, and the bedding was cheap and quite old.Traveling all the way from California with five children on a tight budget, we found ourselves unable to relocate, especially during the holiday season. We are very disappointed with VRBO and Evolve for not adequately vetting or representing this property, leading to a distressing experience overall.

Hi Jennifer, we take guest feedback seriously and have passed your comments on to the homeowner, who would like to share the following:
-We’re sorry to hear that your stay did not fully meet your expectations. We were unaware of the concerns you mentioned, as we have not received any feedback from neighbors about issues with our guests. The dog in the area is known to be friendly and playful, and we’ve never encountered any complaints regarding it.
-If there was an issue with a bed or other furniture, we’re happy to repair or replace it, as we’ve done with other items. We encourage guests to contact our Guest Contact during their stay for any concerns or issues.
We are committed to providing an exceptional experience for all our guests and take pride in welcoming many more, as reflected by the positive feedback we consistently receive.
We especially enjoyed this property because it backs up to the jungle. So many birds and wildlife roamed around. The many fruit trees were also welcomed.

Relaxing stay for a rainforest retreat.
Lots of space; we enjoyed the downstairs with comfortable couch and TV after long days.
Appreciated that there were plenty of toiletries and towels. Host also provided water bottles which was a nice touch. Excellent washer/dryer as well.
Communication was great.

The write up for the property is accurate. I really liked the location, it was ideal for getting around and seeing the sites without too much driving. There’s also good food options around Pahoa. The lack of A/C was hard for us just because it makes the inside more humid and attract more pests. There’s also a lot of wildlife singing their songs at night.
