  The cook wares are not clean. We had to clean every piece of pot/pan before we use it. Especially the coffee maker. It was grossly dirty. I wish I could post a picture here. The floor was dirty. If you walk around bare footed, your feet bottom turns black in no time. On the refrigerator, there is a note that says this is not a hotel, so they only supply a starter kit with 2 rolls of toilet tissue per bathroom. Also, there is only one roll of paper towel in the kitchen. We had to buy some more. Let's be realistic, this is for 4 people staying 1 week not 3 days. For extra $5 supplies and remove that low class note will improve my over-all impression quite a bit. Also, A/C would be much appreciated.

  Now, the good parts about the place. Location is hard to beat. Directly behind the condo, it's an old fishing pond. There is a sea wall blocking the waves. So, the water is calm all day long. If you walk pass Humpback Whale Sancturary visitor center, there is a long stretch of beach with hardly any people on it. You can watch sea turtles resting on the beach in the morning. Having breakfast or watch sunset from lanai is what Hawaii vacation all about.

  I could kick myself for now pushing to get the property manager over to see how dirty it was. It appeared they only do surface clean, even though they said they do deep clean. There were months/years of dirt on door jams, base boards. Sent pictures just so they would be ripped off by someone who was "deep cleaning". Basically said I was lying. Wasn't asking for compensation just making them aware. Evolve is a horrible company to work with. We are 75 and just needed a break from stress so just dealth with it.

• So much to see from one lanai!

  This complex is my favorite place to stay in Maui and this unit has the best views of all. Sit on the lanai and see waves, kite surfers, an occasional whale, sunsets, rainbows, canoes, and much more.

  The unit is clean, updated, and the King bed is super comfy. The kitchen has the basics (really just the basics) but enough to meet most needs. New appliances and a large dining table to seat 6. The unit does NOT have AC, but it has plenty of ceiling and tower fans, and by simply opening the slider and the kitchen window you can create a perfect breeze. Truth is, if there was AC you wouldn't be able to hear the waves due to closed windows, so when in Hawaii, do as the locals, open the doors!

  The beach is perfect for sitting, swimming, walking, or visiting with the turtles (they rest on the rock wall that protects the "fish pond" which does have small schools of fish in it) - remember to stay at least 20 feet away! The beach to the south is great for seeing what washes up overnight and the beach to the north is smooth and soft. If salt water isn't your thing, the pool is a great oasis - very clean and close enough to hear the waves while you relax in or out of the water.

  Had no issues with bugs or noise or neighbors, in fact I have met several of the residents and they are all very friendly and willing to offer suggestions for snorkeling, food options, or things to see.

  Don't miss out on the NOAA Whale Research Center next door, it's free and has lots of activities for kids!

  Can't wait to get back here!
