  • Needed earlier and better communication with us and more thoroughly cleaned

    1) POOR COMMUNICATIONS with manager: The lack of clear communication and information had us panicking about not being able to get into the condo when we arrived in the early morning. It was nerve racking to be unable to contact the manager because the number he gave wasn’t in service!!! The communication regarding the door code and condo number should have either been given a few days earlier or the rules stated regarding that information given to us as soon as we signed up

    2) GENERAL: The condo could have been great. The building was fairly well located and the parking was great.

    3) DIRTY: However, the furniture and woodwork throughout the condo were covered in dust. The bathroom rugs had to be washed before they could be used.

    The shower was so dirty, dirt ran down the glass when the water was turned on. There was so much hair in the shower drain, it didn’t drain well. Completely disgusting. We left it just as it was when we arrived.

    The bed and towels smelled very stale and were stained. (Once washed, they looked pretty good and smell 100% better)

    Everything needed to be cleaned.

    3) BROKEN: The living room furniture is all broken and the couch had to be spray Lysol before we could sit on it. There weren’t enough pillows to make the furniture remotely comfortable.

    Everything was old and had been used so badly. Needs a complete overhaul and deep cleaning. No beach/pool towels. Even the beach chairs were broken. Not at all what we expected from Kona.

    - We regret that the cleanliness of the unit didn’t meet your expectations. We've shared your feedback directly with our cleaning team to ensure higher standards moving forward.
    - While we haven’t observed broken furniture during our current stay, we understand comfort is subjective and will keep an eye out for any issues, including the lanai chairs.

    We did not receive the door code before arriving. Communication was fine after i got the correct phone number for the host but the one provided was out of service. Luckily the office had a check in list with the hosts correct phone number. The condo was infested with ants in the bathrooms, kitchen and hallway. The host stated they spray the ants with vinegar.It was not very clean or well maintained. The linens were dirty and i wasnt sure if they were actually washed. One of the beach chairs in the closet is broken as is the umbrella and the boogie board was missing the leash.It was spacious and in a good location. I wouldnt stay here again unless it had a deep cleaning. Not worth the price paid.

We have contacted the cleaning service regarding the issues you raised and are coordinating with our property management company about refunding the cleaning fee. The problems you mentioned should never occur, and we will personally be staying in the condo in the coming days to ensure everything is in proper order. We’ve also reached out to our on-island property manager regarding the door code and ant concerns. The property manager has been instructed to provide door codes well in advance of guest arrivals to prevent any issues, and we regret that this was not the case during your stay. We appreciate your feedback and will take all necessary steps to address these issues to ensure a better experience for our guests.

    The reservation process was great, and the location was wonderful.There was actually no communication with the property manager, and I would change the requirement to fill out the paperwork at the front office upon arrival as it was confusing with no one there.I had great communication with the local contact who was very helpful!There was an issue of the patio sliding door not closing and he did his best to address it, however it still needs to be repaired or replaced.Would also recommend that the front door lock be repaired and updated to be more secure.Overall, great place, location, and apartment/room!Thank you!
