This property has a great ocean view. Just a short walk to the beach where we enjoyed snorkeling. This property is in a quiet, gated community & was a fairly short drive to lots of activities. The unit was not very clean, but kitchen was well stocked with dishes & utensils. A bag of Kona coffee was provided, which was a nice touch.
The condo does not have central air conditioning, which made it very challenging to get comfortable, particularly in the evenings, due to the higher temps & humidity that occurred during our stay. We had searched VRBO using the A/C filter & didn’t notice the fine print prior to booking. When we reached out to property mgmt, they responded the next day & stated “We have never had complaints about the temperature in the unit and I’m sorry you are uncomfortable.” However, there was no offer to provide additional fans or anything to help with the temperatures. They only sent screenshots of the fine print in the listing. We did not let this ruin our trip to the Big Island. We ended up just adjusted our itinerary & planned activities during the evening hours to avoid the heat.

We enjoyed our stay in this lovely townhouse, immensely! The ocean views were wonderful - we were just above and overlooking the small bay north of the Surf and Racquet Club, where there we saw honu swimming most days. It's an easy walk to Kahalu'u Beach park for a morning snorkel. The home had all the amenities we needed: the kitchen was well stocked for cooking, and there was snorkel and beach gear. Our hosts had a package of coffee waiting for us - great start to the mornings. The lanai is well protected from the rain and was shaded through the day so we could sit out comfortably at any time.
Our vacation was the beginning of October and daytime temperatures were mid to high 80s (~30 Celsius). While there is no air conditioning, there were a lot of fans that kept us comfortable at night. We did keep the windows open for sleeping and the sound of the waves could be a tad loud, so if that's an issue you may want to think about earplugs!
We were asked to park in "visitors; there were three spots just around the corner from the space allotted to the unit, and they were actually an easier walk in with groceries. We never had an issue finding a close spot.
I'd absolutely consider the unit again!
We had an amazing week at this beautiful townhome. The grounds were beautiful, the inside of the home had everything that we needed, and the view of the ocean was so peaceful. Listening to the sound of the waves at night and in the morning was absolutely breath taking. The location to town was perfect. Not too far, but not too close. Cannot wait to go back.
Others have noted how great this property is, so I'll concentrate on some smaller things. The kitchen is well equipped; there are tons of books; there are plenty of towels; the place has a welcoming and comfortable vibe. The shower looks out onto the ocean! Two small problems: we had to reset the wifi because our devices weren't connecting (and we are computer savvy), and there is no grill (which is shown in the property photo). The owner's car is parked in the designated parking spot, so we had to park in visitor parking. But this is a great space!
