Really enjoyed the stay here at Big Canoe. I was getting married the weekend I stayed! My new in-laws and I had a great time at this house. It fit us perfectly. There was an issue with the heating/AC while we were staying (the weather changed wildly while we were here in mid-February. From 75 to 30 degrees overnight), but the owner got the technicians out there within a couple hours to get it figured out! Was really grateful for that. Would recommend a stay here. I have a few gripes that keep it from 5-stars for me, but I did really enjoy it.
1. The windows in the living room are gorgeous, but there's no curtains or shades at all. It faces the sun all day, so you will have the sun in your eyes and the TV will have glare.
2. There is a freakily slippery spot on the hardwood floor between the dining table and the couch. I almost fell multiple times. For older folks this could be a real hazard.
3. There was an annoying flickery light in the master bathroom the whole time, so I just took out that one bulb during my stay.
4. The mattress pad on the master bed makes it waaaay too soft. Removed that for the duration of my stay as well. Totally a preference thing, though.
5. There's no good place to put trash. The community has a dump toward the north exit, but its a decent drive away. Would love if there was an outdoor place by the house to put trash in the interim so you can take it all when you leave. There's lots of wildlife here, so I get that it may be tough, but it would be nice.
6. There was no firewood at all, and it was pretty darn cold some evenings. Would have been nice to have the option of making a fire.
Like I said, so those are just some gripes. I would definitely recommend a stay here if you're headed to Big Canoe! Its right near the clubhouse and the golf course as well.
Very welcoming and communicated very well.

My family and I had a fabulous time at this Big Canoe Retreat. The view off the deck was incredible and we saw deer on the green on numerous mornings. The home was spacious and had everything we needed. It was a great Thanksgiving getaway location and I would highly recommend it.
