  We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Hartwell! Suzanne and Eric were awesome their responsiveness to a few issues was immediate. There was plenty or room and the kitchen was fully equipped and amazing!! The grills worked great and the water was perfect. We did have a small issue with the air in one bedroom upstairs but found a solution with the hosts help. Recommendation would be to replace the couches in the main den as they seem to swallow you up when you sit on them. The downstairs den was the perfect place for the kids to hang out! Would definitely look at renting again!

• Family Reunion Trip

  We had a great family reunion at this lake house. Plenty of rooms and space for our 20 family members. We spent most of our time down by the lake on the dock, and rented a boat for tubing and waterskiing. We were amazed at how quiet and peaceful it was, and we rarely saw people out on the water.

  Overall great experience. The WiFi and TV reception was very spotty but that was mentioned in the description. If a solution can be put in place for future stays would be a great amenity. We were able to stream movies on the tv for family movie nights from our phones so it worked out.

• Not very clean

  This is the second stay that a group of Ladies stayed at this rental. Last year the oven was broke and the house was not especially clean, but we were not expecting perfect and so it was ok. Since the location is somewhat convenient for us we booked again this year but were surprised that now they had a 3 night minimum (instead of 2 the previous year). This was not our plan, but again, we adjusted and it allowed some of the Ladies to go up early and prepare for the rest of the group. It turns out that was a good thing because once again, the house was not especially clean. The extra day was spent cleaning cleaning up some things that should have been caught by the housekeeping crew. There were a very graphic set of pictures on the chalkboards in one room that covers the walls. Several of the toilets needed to be cleaned. Again, our group rolled with the punches and the weekend turned out fine. Several other things needed to be addressed after we called the contact number and they did help in getting the wifi back on, however we could never get the tvs to connect (not a huge deal because we weren't there to watch tv).

  It's really a great house and has some great features, but there are better choices out there for the price when you have to spend part of your day cleaning. We will be seeking another place next year.

  - Regarding the minimum night stay, this is clearly outlined on the listing before booking, ensuring guests are aware of it beforehand. We encourage guests to utilize filters to find a property that meets their needs.
  - We sincerely apologize for the cleanliness issues you encountered during your stay. Upon being made aware of the content left behind on the chalkboard, the property manager promptly arranged for the wall to be cleaned. The chalkboard was intended as a children's creative outlet, with cute comments and drawings usually left for others to enjoy. Unfortunately, we had an incident that has prompted us to reconsider its presence. Going forward, we plan to remove the chalkboard wall entirely to prevent any future issues.
  - The cleaners and property manager have been informed to pay close attention to the toilets in the future. Additionally, the property manager will conduct a thorough walk-through a day or two before rental guests arrive to ensure everything is in perfect condition. We're enthusiastic and take pride in creating a positive experience for our guests at our beloved home.
  - When you contacted us regarding the issue with the wifi, the property manager promptly came to reset it. As stated in our property description, due to the secluded area, wifi connections can be intermittent.
  - All TVs have been thoroughly checked and are in good working order.

  The house was very spacious and nice and for the most part clean. The dock area and lake was amazing. We rented a boat and had a great time on the water. Only complaint is that the oven wasn’t working properly and the dishwasher and sink in the powder room were also not working. Overall we had a great time and our family thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Thank you!
