  • Great little gem in the woods

    5/5

The rental was beautifully done. Everything you needed was there. Great view from deck. There is some traffic noise which you can hear most of the time. There was an unusual smell that we couldnt figure out. Sprayed lysol, ran fans and opened windows for a bit but didn’t seem to help. Also, there are 2 steps down on the back deck which are hard to see. Maybe painting a line at step edge would help to avoid a falling issue.

  • Whitetail Retreat?

    5/5

The name for this cabin is pretty accurate in that we saw five Whitetail deer during our three day stay. We also saw three bears, a mama and two cubs, so maybe Wildlife Retreat would be more accurate. The cabin itself was perfect. Very clean, all switches labeled, comfortable furnishings, a large deck with Mountain Views. Probably the nicest place we have stayed in many visits to this path of north Georgia.

  • Everything we asked for and more!

    5/5

Everything we asked for and more! This cabin was the most beautifully appointed that we have ever stayed in and the view of surrounding woods and distant mountains was perfect too! Driving in was easier than expected - just be sensible. Hum of traffic down on the 515 in the background depending on the breeze, but drowned out by evening forest noises and a completely private setting. Seeing deer was not unusual and spotting a bear with her 2 cubs from the kitchen window at dusk was an added bonus!

Overall we had a good experience during our stay at Whitetail Retreat, we even saw the whitetail deer that this cabin was named after. After our time exploring the Blue Ridge area the return to the cabin was truly a retreat. We would have desired a quieter stay but the noise of Highway Rt 5 was ever present

    Manager's Response:

From the owner: "Michael, we're so glad you had a restful time at Whitetail Retreat and were able to see our treasured wildlife. When outside on the back deck Hwy 515 can be a little noisier at certain times of the year, but the trade-off is being somewhat tucked away/secluded, but also just 10 minutes away from downtown & grocery stores. Thank you for being such great guests and you are welcome back to stay anytime!"
