We had a much-needed, fun yet relaxing stay at Emerald Escape! The cabin is as comfortable as it is beautiful and has everything you would need - a fully stocked kitchen with full sized fridge, coffee maker, microwave, ample counter space and all of the cookware and serving dishes and utensils you'll need. The main floor has a large, comfy bed and updated bathroom with large shower. The living room furniture is also very comfortable and there is a gas fireplace and/or an electric space heater for chilly mornings. Everything was very clean, organized and nicely decorated. There was only me and my hubby on this trip, but for additional guests, the upstairs has a bedroom and private bathroom and the downstairs (large finished basement) also.
There is a lot of privacy in the back of the property, as well as a nice firepit to roast marshmallows. Or you can relax on the huge outside deck off the main floor. This cabin is in a great location, central to several beautiful waterfalls. We visited the quaint German town of Helen (40 miles southeast) and then went to nearby Anna Ruby Falls which were definitely worth the fairly easy hike to see. We also enjoyed the town of Blue Ridge (about a 25 minute drive), where we had delicious southern cooking at Southern Charm restaurant and enjoyed the shops and dog show they happened to be holding in the town park. I really wanted to ride the Blue Ridge Scenic Railway but sadly it was all sold out. The 3rd day we visited Vogel State Park (about a 40 minute drive) and DeSoto Falls, and I highly recommend both!
Sadly, we had to leave to go home too soon, but will definitely be back!
