  My family stayed in Unit #1908 at The Palms of Destin. The condo overlooks a shopping plaza parking lot but the beach can be seen a short distance away. The condo itself was pretty well appointed. However, the control panel for the air conditioning is located in the entryway. And, there are no ceiling fans in the bedrooms. So, to cool down the master bedroom, we had to turn the AC down to a fairly low temperature. That made it freezing in the kid’s bedroom. The children’s room had bunk beds which I thought was nice, but my daughter complained that the top bunk squeaked to the point she thought her sister would fall on her head during the night. And, the top bunk had a TV at the foot of the bed which was awkward and annoying for my daughter.

  The balcony doors are in serious need of WD-40. Only my husband was able to open the door off the living room. It was so fused closed that I thought we would break it trying to open it. We had to use the balcony door in the master bedroom. The master closet contained two (2) boogie boards that were both broken, so we were unable to use them.

  ***On our drive home, I received an email from the Owner accusing us of stealing a gray blanket and threatening to charge us!!

  I emailed her immediately to say that ALL the linens were in a pile in the middle of the floor as per the check-out instructions. Which is where she could also find one (1) gray blanket and the other gray blanket was on the shelf in the master closet. The owner NEVER replied to either of my two (2) emails nor a voicemail that I left her! ***

  Overall, The building is decent. The hallway carpet was dirty and gross. It was extremely inconvenient to have to walk outside of the east tower to get to the main building and then back outside to the parking garage.

  We love the Destin area and I was mostly very happy with the condo. My interaction with the owner at the conclusion of our stay was off-putting is my reason for deducting a Star (almost two Stars).

  Stayed here last year, great location and tons of amenities. Close to food , fun , shopping and beaches. Great price as well .

  I highly recommend !
