The Airbnb itself was fine, clean but it had some old gatorade bottles under the couch and matched the photos except the game room if you can even call it that we didn’t even use it because the pool table was so small and in bad condition we were scared of breaking it.
Unfortunately, our experience with the hosts after a service issue significantly impacted our overall stay.
We specifically asked if it was possible to heat both the pool and hot tub for just Saturday, and we were told yes. Based on that confirmation, we paid an additional $50 for the heating service. However, neither the pool nor the hot tub ever became warm during our stay. The water remained cold the entire time, and despite waiting several hours and giving it time, there was no noticeable change in temperature.
We were therefore unable to use the amenities as intended, other than briefly entering the pool for a some time coming out to the sun and going back in for another couple of minutes, but it was too cold to actually enjoy.
After we raised this concern, the communication with the hosts became increasingly frustrating. We were met with accusations about “excess usage” and warnings about additional charges related to gas costs, and about talking to the heating company to learn on how the heater work, which felt unnecessary and unprofessional given the situation. We also clarified the situation regarding 2 visiting friends for a couple of hours, which was already communicated and handled separately and they kept bringing it up instead of addressing the actual issue we had.
The main issue remains that we paid for a specific service (heated pool and hot tub for one day) that was never actually delivered. If the system cannot realistically heat the pool within a single day, that should have been clearly communicated before accepting payment for that option.
Overall, while the property itself was good, the lack of effective communication and the handling of this issue significantly affected our experience. A more reasonable and customer-focused approach would have gone a long way in resolving this.
