We really enjoyed our stay, there was a little hiccup with the pool heat, we paid extra for the pool to be heated, but when we arrived it was "heated" to 78 degrees, coming from Indiana, and freezing temps and trying to escape that 78 was not exactly what we considered "heated" we texted the caretaker and he was able to get the owners to bring it up to 83... once again, we live in Indiana, we have neighbors that heat their pools to 85 starting in the spring. FINALLY, the pool guy came, and he was able to turn it up to 85, but of the 7 days we were there we only got to actually use the pool for TWO days. I feel if you are paying extra to have a heated pool, then HEAT the dang pool, 78 is not heated! We even pulled the solar cover over to help try to get it warmer or keep the heat in the pool, but basically, I paid almost $10 dollars a day for a heated pool and the owner did give us one day taken off, so I paid for 6 days after the discount and only got to use the pool for a total of two days. I was NOT happy about that, when you are trying to escape freezing temps, you want to be warm. This was truly a spur of the moment, we gotta get the heck out of these 15-degree days, so we found this and thought perfect, pool, dog friendly, sold! You can definitely tell the neighborhood is still working on recovery form Ian, it seems from what we observed there was a lot of homes either sitting waiting for repairs, or people working on them. the ones being worked on are coming around and looking good, the ones just sitting looked kind of trashy. There were a few people you could tell were actual residents. We helped one person, we found their dog and were able to get it back to its owner, the guy across the street was very nice trying to help us (as dog lovers & owners we were happy to help find this pup his owner) One other thing, many nights there were definitely smells of marijuana in the air, not a huge deal, with FL being a medical legal state it's to be expected, I'm just trying to give everyone honest info- If this is something that offends or bothers you, probably not the place for you. The house itself very clean, well decorated and had nice furniture. The beds were comfortable, it was just the two of us, we thought our daughter and husband were going to come but sadly couldn't., So I did sleep in one of the other beds after being snored out, all beds very comfy. Kitchen well stocked, even had things for babies! Large dining room. I would go back. :)
Loved our stay, lived that it was dog friendly, I truly have nothing negative thing to say. Everything was super clean and having a washer & dryer on site was fantastic. Our contact host was very quick in responding to any questions or requests we had. Bathrooms were very nice (we did notice in both bathrooms the hand soap was very low, it looked like it had plenty but the tube didn't go all the way to the bottom) But if that's the only thing I can complain about that's being super mega picky! Had Everything we could possibly need, plenty of towels, they even had beach/ pool towels and pool noodles, toys, rafts. First aid things even some emergency feminine needs things, I was honestly blown away. Oh and in one of the bedrooms they had a white noise machine!! I was thrilled because I have one at home and couldn't really bring it, so that was a super nice surprise. 😊 We would come back here again in a heart beat.
The neighborhood was very mixed still, some of the homes were clearly still being worked on, or people had given up and left (?) I believe there's going to be a lot more flipped homes here.
One thing to know if you've never been to the area, there is a toll going over the bridge to get back onto the island, so it's just 1 way, not both, it takes ezpass, Ipass. Sun pass, they even take river link, which makes it a lot easier to go across, if course they will toll by plate but you can buy a prepaid sun pass all over the place.

We loved our stay at the "Cape Coral Escape". The house was clean and welcoming. There was plenty of space for us and our two teenagers. We enjoyed playing board games at the dining room table, cooking in the spacious kitchen and taking a dip in the heated pool.
The house is short drive to many of Ft. Myers' great beaches and it's close to downtown Ft. Myers as well.
The owners of the home went above and beyond on New Years Eve and had sparkling grape juice and chocolates delivered to the home for us.
We will definitely stay here again when we are back in the area!

We loved the house! It was clean and well stocked with essentials. We wish there were tvs in all bedrooms since we were traveling with 2 teenagers. The water pressure in the showers was lacking a bit, but all was well.
