  • Disrespectful homeowner and insanity home

    1/5

Homeowner lives on site in a separate unit, had loud parties into the early hours of the morning which made sleeping quite difficult. I'm also assuming they smoke in their unit as the smell permeated the unit we rented. The home is fairly furnished but was disappointed with an uncomfortable bed and cheap and thin comforters/pillows. The very last day of our staying, we heard a scratching sound and found a dying mouse in a mouse trap under the bed. We re-scheduled our flight home to be as early as possible and left the house that night.

    Manager's Response:

Hi Tim, we take guest feedback seriously and passed your comments on to the homeowner who would like to share the following:
    - We strive to provide our guests with a great guest experience, so we were disappointed to hear your feedback and want to take a moment to address your concerns.
    - It is important to note that our property comprises of three units, two are short-term rentals and the other, the basement is occupied by myself the owner. During your stay, we did have guests occupying the other rental. We apologize for the inconvenience and disruption caused by the other guests during your stay. As the owner, I take responsibility for ensuring a peaceful environment for all guests. I intervened to address the noise and ensured that it ceased before midnight. I also communicated with the other guests to prevent any further disruptions.
    - Regarding the issue of smoke odor, we want to clarify that smoking is strictly prohibited inside the rental units. We take pride in maintaining a smoke-free environment for the comfort of all our guests. After the departure of the other guest, we thoroughly inspected the unit and confirmed that there was no lingering smell of smoke.
    - We also apologize for the discomfort caused by the bedding and the unexpected discovery of a mouse trap with a dying mouse. We take cleanliness and guest comfort very seriously and have taken measures to address these concerns and prevent recurrence.
    - Once again, we apologize for the challenges you experienced during your stay and appreciate your understanding. We remain committed to providing a positive and enjoyable experience for all our guests.
We do all we can to make the best possible stay, and we look forward to this property hosting many satisfied guests.

  • Good Location and Value

Good location and value for a short stay. Apartment had a strong smell, but otherwise was a good value for the area and a visit to DC.

Great Place, very clean and the owner was extremely responsive.Just one thing, not a bad thing, but all other places that I have stayed athave been pretty well stocked with extra's. This is a very minimal place, but maybe that's how DC does things. Regardless, I would stay there again if in the area. Again, very clean and very nice owner.

We had a terrific time. The apartment felt very safe and was clean and decently furnished. The neighbors were nice, and the bbq joint on the corner was delicious.

The AC is loud in the kitchen, but I was happy to have it and didn’t mind.

It wasn’t a long walk to the metro, and just a little further to the nearest decent grocery store I could find (Giant). My five year old was able to handle the distances just fine.

We rented a car for one day/night, and finding parking was tricky but not frustrating.
