Great little cottage. Had enough room for us (4 people) for a few days. We had a great time at the beach which was not too far of a walk for us. We enjoyed the house and the area. Great trip!

The owner is very nice, however the cottage was incomplete as there is still particle board showing in the closets, pipes exposed in the bathroom, and outlets that were not closed. Once this place has some tender Love and care and by that I mean fixing up then it will be more of a comfortable stay. You can’t beat the walk to the beach! The beach was beautiful and we really enjoyed our time there.

Thanks for sharing your thoughts, and we're glad to hear you loved the beach access and had a great time enjoying the area! We followed up with the homeowner after reading your feedback, and they wanted to share the following:
– We renovated the cottage just two years ago, and I completed all plumbing work myself as a licensed Master Plumber (P-1). The exposed lines under the bathroom sink are intentional, up to code, and common in many bathrooms.
– The bathroom closet has five shelves; three painted and two plywood. All are sturdy and functional for storing linens and towels.
– There are no exposed or unsafe outlets in the home. The wire under the bed is an inactive telephone line and poses no safety risk.
The homeowner takes pride in creating a welcoming environment for guests. We’ll continue working together to provide a positive experience for all future visitors.
We were really hoping for a cozy getaway, but this cottage was a huge disappointment. While the owner was kind, the property is simply not fit for guests—and certainly not for anyone with a baby. The house felt unsafe: it was noticeably slanted and appeared to be set on top of loose cinder blocks. It felt like a lived-in old home, not a clean or properly maintained rental cottage. We walked in to find a peanut butter jar on the counter, half-used soaps and shampoo in the shower, and old food left in the fridge and freezer. The bedrooms had walls so dirty you could see footprints and grime. The listing also claimed air conditioning, but there was only one unit in the living room, leaving all the bedrooms hot and uncomfortable. On top of that, the photos were clearly edited and did not reflect the true condition of the property. We felt misled, unsafe, and uncomfortable—and we’re requesting a full refund.

Hi Nicholas, The right vacation home is everything, and we're disappointed if this wasn't the one for you. We followed up with the homeowner after reading your feedback, and they wanted to share the following:
- This home was fully renovated two years ago and is equipped with newer appliances and freshly painted walls and ceilings throughout.
- The peanut butter jar you mentioned was a sealed, unopened item stored in an upper cabinet, not left out on the counter.
- The cleaning team confirms that the fridge and freezer are thoroughly cleaned between every guest stay, and no food items are left behind. Shampoo and soap provided in the shower are full-size bottles intended for guest use and are replaced or refilled regularly.
- The listing notes that the home is cooled by a 1.5-ton mini-split A/C system, which we confirm is appropriate for the 500-square-foot space. The structure of the home has been in place for over 60 years, and the foundation remains stable and secure. There have been no prior safety concerns reported.
- The photos in the listing were professionally taken by Evolve and accurately represent the home’s current condition.
Thanks for your valuable feedback as we continue to improve for future guests!
This cottage was just what we needed. We have a Internet free few days which was awesome. They had a deck of cards in the house and our 18 year old taught the 8 year old how to play solitaire. The cottage was in walking distance from the beach. Nothing to complain about.
