Was a wonderful relaxing vacation in Palisade area. Many hikes and mountain bike trails to explore. Along with wine sampling at winerys nearby!

  • Lovely Stay in Palisade!

    4/5

We were pleasantly surprised by how beautiful the location and house were! We did love our stay, however the cleanliness lacked. Here’s what we found:

When we arrived, there was a used washcloth (with lots of makeup) hanging in the bathroom. There was also a decent amount of hair on the entry ledge into the shower. No biggie, you say….then as we were unpacking in the kitchen , we came across the coffee pot, which was full of old coffee and coffee grounds.

We noticed many dead bugs on the floor, which is probably to be expected in this area. However, my 7 year old daughter all of a sudden had a STICKY TRAP (for insects/rodents) stuck to her shoe! Not sure I would’ve ventured to put one of those on the floor where guests would be!

Lastly, we noticed quite a bit of pet hair on the throw pillows in the living area. Luckily, none of us have any pet dander allergies.

None of these things deterred us from having a great time, however, I really wonder what was actually cleaned before we got there.

All in all a lovely place. Would love to see the peaches in the spring and summer!

  • Peaceful Birthday Retreat

    5/5

We loved the peacefulness of the house. My wife loved the windows and I loved the high ceilings. Our stay was just what we needed to celebrate our birthdays. The hot tub and star watching was the perfect ending to a day of hiking.

Our daughter was married in Denver on the 21st, so we wanted a place to unwind after all the hustle and bustle, before heading back to WI. The drive through the mountains was spectacular with the leaves a beautiful yellow on the trees along the river and in the mountain towns along the way. Palisade itself was in full color as well! Then we arrived to this home and we’re blown away by the amazing views on both sides of the house. Watching the sun rise over the ridge, while sipping coffee never got old! So many amazing hikes in the area as well as wineries to explore and enjoy. This time of year was slow so we enjoyed great service! The hosts were very happy to help in any way and super responsive!
